[QUOTE=gIzzE;1898670]A decent read??!!
Honestly, that Zelda review was exhausting to read. It was just a load of pretentious cobblers imho.
It sounds like it was written by a 10 year old with a thesaurus.
There were some good things to be said about the game you could see that, but the way it was written was awful.

lol - edge has always been like that; i've commented about there use of language several times. It seems to suck out all the fun from a game. Was zelda going to get anything less than a 10? They have obsessed over the franchise for years.....

That said it's nice to see Ace Combat get a good score from EDGE and other media

To be fair, I can't think of a publication that doesn't give Zelda's a high mark typically and they typically involve more ingenuity than the latest 9/10 Halo.
The theme with UC3 seems to be that the single player is better and so is the multiplayer but due to reviewers not being obsessed by the mp they've bringing the score a little down. Silly really.
Completely with you on Ace Combat

I seem to remember the 'light the torch' puzzles as being rather illogical, thankfully I believe that Skyward Sword doesn't have any nor does it have any 'push the box on the switch' moments. In the Deku Tree I loved jumping from up high to break through the big spider's web, now that was a decent puzzle!

There's always the usual degree of subjectiveness in these things as people have favoured series, games etc but can count the amount of issues EDGE doesn't wax on at some point about Halo. It might be 10/10 for you but for me it's possibly the single laziest series in gaming with little progression across it's instalments. But still different strokes and all that, personally all Zelda's have child-easy puzzles

I think EDGE's review of Skyward Sword takes the pee- when they're seem to be reviewing the Japanese version of the game where the story and dialogue is lost and the puzzles must either be easy anyone can work them out or is fluent in Japanese .Then again, maybe it's EDGE doing its age style or either giving a game a massive score or the exact opposite and giving a game a low score To create talking points and get people talking about EDGE reviews
