Another one worth mentioning is Mupen64Plus Android Edition, specifically for the Xperia Play.

It's in beta and compatibility is a little bit flakey, but I'm comfortably playing F-Zero X on it with no overclock right now.

Textures are missing on the ships though...

Do you reckon it's better than N64oid? I bought that on the SlideMe market and it is really good. Completed Ocarina of Time on that.

I'll give n64oid a try and do a comparison. I've not used that yet.

Edit: n64oid seems to crash out the moment I load the game, so for F-Zero X it looks like Mupen64Plus beats it.

Are any of you guys still using custom roms?

I'm rooted and removed a load of bloat, but feel I want to get more out of it.

But been reading that the XPlay controls don't work in some games (Gameloft, EA) on a custom rom.

Not sure if it's worth it, as the main reason for this phone is the controls.

I'm on CyanogenMod 7 FXP. Not arsed about analogue controls just yet, sorry... Or even Gameloft/EA games for that matter! But yeah, CM7 does a good job of cleaning up the system.

Silvergun: You weren't kidding about this CPS2HD! It runs everything perfectly 60FPS zero frameskip full audio up the ass! Let me have a play with this netplay, we share Wifi with the family we rent a room from, so I don't think they'll take to kindly to me tinkering with their hardware.

What are you using for SNES emu? I've tried everything and I get crackly/weird audio when I test with SMW (my benchmarking title, LOL!). With auto frame-skipping enabled SNES9X clears the audio issues, but I get the odd hiccup here and there which, imo, is unacceptable when it comes to emulation.

Glad you're getting on with it. I knew you'd like it.

I can set up port forwarding as a host here, so if you're joining me as Player 2, I don't think port mapping is necessary on your side? We'll definitely have to give this a play when I'm back from work tonight.

I'm currently using SNesoid. Not sure about the audio on it, I'll give it a try and get back to you on that one.

I'd imagine you'd be completely all over F-Zero X, mate?!

Been a good few places at that price mate, and yes sim free.

If you can't find anywhere now, I'm sure it will be again soon.

Play, Amazon both had it. You could search on here for the deals: http://www.hotukdeals.com/

Seems there are plenty of places selling it for ?150, not sim free though. If I decide to get one then I guess I'll just wait for a bit.

This this is purely a portable emulation/movies/music/web browser device for me, the phone functionality comes in at last place.

Ordered mine today. Can't wait. Texting and the odd phone call is all i need but portable emulation on top gives me a full on robot chubby. I may need some assistance tweaking the ****e out of it though

Can I ask where you got yours from and how much it cost?

I neeeearly bought one unlocked from Cash Converters for ?170, but I just feared it would end in tears.
(I totally loogied on that good dead me)

I was looking at getting a psp go for emulation and hadn't really thought about the experia play. I have a rubbish old pay as you go phone that doesnt get much use so this might be worth a punt.

There are plenty on ebay at the moment but I notice some sellers say that not all xperia plays can be unlocked/cfw/rooted, does anyone know if this is the case?

As for the emulation side of things are they all paid for apps from the app store rather than freeware? Not that either is a problem, just wondered.

Weeeelll I've got mine on a contract for 2 years with Orange - on a ?20 a month tarrif. But before everyone gasps at the stupidity of it.. I'm also getting a 3DS chucked in and ?50 cashback from quidco. AND I've got a 3GS to flog (16GB). Brought it via Dialaphone.

Not coming until Friday - so that's a week of researching..
