which is best for multi format titles(360 or ps3)

Hi All

ive been out of the gaming scene for some time now what with getting married,kids etc. ive recently bought myself a ps3 and a 360 is on its way. Now obviously the exclusives are exclusives but im more bothered about the multi format titles. Are the ps3 and 360 versions generally the same in terms of graphics(I tell myself im not a graphics whore but I am ). is the 360 pad better or ps3? Online wise, im assuming that LIVE is a much more better experience?

anyway guys, just lookign for advice really on which platform I should buy the multiformat titles on as I need to do abit of catching on the older titles so will be starting a little collection.

Any incling on wether the next sony and microsoft machines will be backward compatible? On that note,any ideas when the next incarnations will be released. Last first day purchase I bought was the gamecube which was good times....

would like advice from those people who have both machines and I assume most on here have both machines.

Honesty? They're about the same these days. The older the game, the more likely the 360 version is a little better than the PS3 one, but that barely factors in anymore.

I buy all the multi format stuff on 360 mainly because I have more friends on that, and have owned it longer (gotta keep my gamerscore going). I think the only multi format title I have on PS3 is FF13, which is one where the PS3 version does edge the 360 one by quite a margin.

Not heard anything about backwards compat on the next round of machines, mainly cause there are not (public) details available on them at all at this point.

also would like is people could post the top exclusive titles for each machine so I can keep a look out for any bargains. Don't mind if the titles are older as I need to do some catching up anyway.

what are the must have's(EXCLUSIVE) titles for the ps3? ive got on the way uncharted 1 & 2 which should keep me going for some time.

For me the best exclusive on PS3 after the Uncharted games is Valkyria Chronicles, but some people love Little Big Planet too.

LBP is alright, I've enjoyed Resistance and it sounds like the 3rd one is a joy. If you liked any of the previous Metal Gears then MGS4 is worth playing.

Been out the scene proper for a long time so I know things have moved from my gamecube gaming days. With limited time now, its either games I can play in short bursts doing a high score,or something linear where I pretty have to go from A to B with the odd bad guys and puzzles along the way.

What I like is a good question as my staple diet was Nintendo stuff. Id pretty like to try anything so long as its a AAA title as ive always been one to chase the ratings........

Mainly i'd like games that have a good online presence. Ive been palying Fifa when i go to me brothers and thats perfect. a quick online game with not too much faffing about. I would actually like to get into FPS's too.

So yeah,i'll pretty much look at anything thats got good reviews regardless of genre. Though i'd it if it had a nice gentle learning curve.

Add to that Ratchet & Clank and Wipeout.

360 wise the exclusives would be the Halo series.....and now I can't think of anymore.

I'd pick the console with the exclusives you want to most to be honest and that will vary form person to person. Modern multi-platform titles don't seem to make much difference. There are exceptions of course - look up Bayonetta and Final Fantasy XIII for examples ;-)

FF13 is pretty good on 360 though, Bayo is horrible on PS3.

Do newer 360s RRoD or is that a thing of the past? I have a fairly old 360 so I'll always buy multiformat titles for PS3 as that has a greater chance of not dying on me.
