Just finished Wind Waker for the second time

I blew through it despite having not played it for a couple months after beating it the first time. Could a third go be in the works this year? Hmm... maybe.

It's only the 2nd game that I got this year that I've beaten more then once so that ought to show just much I love this game. It's my favourite Zelda ever and I like it far more than OOT which I felt lacked the spirit and charm of the old games (Don't kill me!)

Screw you naysayers who didn't like searching the the triforce pieces.

    Get 1 before Forsaken Fortress
Get 3 before finishing both temples
    Get 4 afterwards

If you spread it out like that it's really not bad at all. As for the 'boring' sailing? Well, excuse me princess, but if you shoot the guy in the typhoons 3 times with your arrow you learn a song which lets you warp to practically any part of the sea! I wonder, did the people who complain miss this or something?! I don't get it...

It's time to jump for joy!

Is there anything interesting playing it through for the second time? I know about the 'shrimp' clothes and the Nintendo gallery, but is the ending any different perchance?

No, I got it. And as a Nintendo fan for many years (from the beginning in fact) I must still say that TWW featured far too much padding and "boring sailing". Nintendo are losing their grip on perfection. Polished but predictable. It is a sad time indeed

No it didn't, it was better than the big empty field in OOT. The sailing was far from predictable anyway.

I loved loved loved the game, but when I was done I felt satisfied that I had done all I could, and that I could put it to bed quietly and with honor. It deserved it.

I didn't mind the sailing at all, it was quite relaxing .

However, having to play the Wind Waker every time the wind needed changing direction was frustrating. Nintendo should have given Link an object part way into the game that allowed a simple shortcut for this.

I really liked Wind Waker, but the dungeons weren't as good as Ocarinas. Each room was its own puzzle as opposed the whole dungeon being a puzzle, which I prefer.

Also, I never felt that the land was really in danger, if you know what I mean. In LTTP and OOT, the Dark/Adult worlds have a real sense of forboding about them, but much of WW is still bright and sunny, despite the threat. And who could forget the Moon in Majora's Mask?

It still had some classic moments in it, an the expressions on Links face was classic. I'll probably play it through again soon, as I accidentally zapped my US memory card and lost everything .

I'm also playing through it again. So far I've completed the Deku tree level and the volcano (sorry, I don't know the names). This time I'm playing it, it's on a huge TV with surround sound and the game is even more stunning than before!
Best bits are finishing the Deku Tree level and all the little..things peform for you and then fly off, and the absolute best bit is right now-ie I played last night in darkness, with equipment as above, and had to sail to the Island with a huge black cloud over. Now it's pouring, there's a huge storm and it's pitch black. And it is just unbelievably good! The atmosphere, sound, really excellent graphics too.

I got a bit carried away there. I HATE people who say they don't like this game-I'm definitely not a hardcore gamer, however I really really liked this game. If I handed the controller to someone, right where I am in the game-lost in the middle of the sea on an island, with a huge thunderstorm, I can't see how they wouldn't also think how amazing it is.

              Can't wait for the sequel

I'm just getting the final tri force bits together - Been taking my time plodding through this since I got it earlier in the year.

I absolutely love the game. Is the second quest slightly harder or something? I want to play through that purely to complete the Nintendo Gallery as I missed lots of bosses on the way through.

I have 4 more Tri Force shards to collect then its the final boss. But before then I want to finish the following mini quests - 300 Hits on the Outset Island Teacher, Water the Deku Trees, Trade all items and then set them all up on Windmill, The Coupons to the boat salesman. I think that is all unless I haven't come across one yet.

Does anyone know what to do with the golden feathers? Everything else had a purpose somewhere or other?

I am enjoying playing this a lot of than OoT but I preffered OoTs sense of doom in the story as someone else pointed out. At the start of this game it was like "We MUST head here, we MUST stop the evil" but once you get the pearls you are pretty much on a free ride taking as much time as you want. Surely ganondorf would be looking for the tri force too? Which kinda makes it silly that his henchmen are guarding the maps - Why not just bring them to him. It does seem a little too casual to be "save the world". Nobody seems that worried at all. Maybe they could address that in Wind Waker 2. But as far as enjoying the actual gameplay - I prefer this one to OoT.

One of the best games I've ever played this, I loved every minute. The style has to be one of the most likeable ever seen in a game, it's just magical the entire way through.

This was actually my first Zelda (though I did get about half way through OOT), so my experience of the series was brand-spanking new when I got this game. Perhaps for this reason alone, I felt WW was through and through a 10/10 game.

                  Lovely

RE golden feathers - you give 'em to one of the guards in the bird people town (IIRC, he is close to a door by the sorting office). His missus wants 'em for whatever reason and he trades you stuff for them.

Damn! I remember him mentioning them now! Cheers!

I feel the same as JRM. It was very enjoyable, but I can't see myself doing it again.

And... you can't compare the sailing to Hyrule field. You could cross Hyrule field in a minute or so(IIRC), whereas the sailing could take far, far longer than that.
Nintendo themselves said that they cut several dungeons out because of time restrictions... There are plenty of sidequests, but it does feel like it needed a little bit more meat on it's bone. Mind you, the meat that was there was some of the best I've ever tasted. Mind you... I'm vegetarian.

I've just started playing through it for the second time. I love using Links original clothing.

Overall, IMO the sailing was great. And much more enjoyable than riding Epona. Especially when...

Great game, not as good as OOT (which in turn isn't as good as LttP) but a great game, and loyal to the series indeed.

Good game - but the sailing/treasure hunting was very tedious and far from rewarding (imo of course)
