    Gran Turismo 6

Developer Polyphony Digital is "of course" working on Gran Turismo 6 already, studio boss Kazunori Yamauchi has reveale…

Polyphony boss Yamauchi has confirmed that GT6 is in the works. Given the usual slow turnaround it'll probably be for PS4. They've got a lot to prove with this one.

probably would like to see this on the ps4 - doubt too much more innovation could be done on the ps3

I think the pinacle has been reached on this gen

      And it's called Forza 4

I'd be happy for GT6 to be like the early odd numbered GT's and feature less tracks and cars but a brand new structure, handling model, physics etc. GT's entire structure is outdated and archaic now and needs a complete gutting.

I think it will be PS3. They tend to make a GT game, then have a second one come out that improves on it. This is true for GT1 bettered by GT2, GT3 bettered by GT4. Now its GT5 bettered by GT6.
They're really need to put some flesh on the bones with the next one for me though. Forza is much better.

Fingers crossed for a total overhaul of the single player structure, I found GT5 tedious and boring.

If its anything like 5, it will be crap. Handling model aside, the most staid and stilted game series still in production.

GamesRadar+ takes you closer to the games, movies and TV you love.

An SCEA employees online CV has listed Gran Turismo 6 as a current project. Given the point we're at though it's still being considered a PS4 title

Single player needs a revamp. In my opinion online also needs restrictions on certain car models. Ala only use Skyline R34's in this race etc. Far too many times I can't get an evenly matched race especially online.

Gran Turismo 6 being a current project, add on SCEJ time I reckon we will be playing this 2016.

Is that for the demo of the Beta you pay to own or for the full game?

                      Japan - Christmas 2017
                      Europe - 7 months after 2018

After the last release though its been a massive let-down.

I'd rather have a totally solid, beautiful game that runs like a dream, than hundreds of cars and loads of tracks. Quality over quantity, but that's not going to happen. I guess gamers are to blame a bit, because they would moan if the game only had 10 cars and 4 tracks. I wouldn't. Journos would also slate a near perfect game if the content was lacking. All this expecting tons of content has spoilt gaming imo.

I'd rather have more tracks than cars. However "racing" isn't really on GT's radar.

SP needs to be revamped for sure. Hell, the whole franchise needs a revamp.

GT5 was a complete mess, even more so at time of release. They put in many things, but every single thing of it was half assed. The Nascar, WRC cars and racing, Kart, night racing, Top Gear (lol)... well, the regular SP, the car list itself and the premium/standard crap, the online mode... it was incredibly half assed. It was just a very bad game, that had some sparks of greatness such as driving through the rain with a Ferrari.

I thought they'd release it for PS3 and continue their existing model of two per console but it's so late into its life that I'm not so sure now.

Prior to 5, I thought most other racing games were just pretenders but games like Forza have actually managed to catch up by not losing sight of what they are - what is GT now? Is it a driving sim, a racing game or a photo sim? I'm sure the ten people who enjoy the endurance races got a lot of gameplay out of it but I for one found my entire(ly short) experience a complete and utter bore and spent longer installing the game and faffing around with menus than I did actually playing it.

My concern about them releasing for PS3 is that they've already bunged so much "content" into GT5 that they'll probably find it difficult to add even more "content" for GT6 without me being even more cynical and thinking they only did it so they could sell us GT5 all over again. They could probably doll-up some or all of the PS2 car models and create an instant better-looking game, chuck in some more GTTV, couple of tracks or whatever and Bob's your uncle.

On the other hand, I wonder if they planned to only release one GT for PS3 and decided to go all-out, in which case they could get away with releasing GT6 on PS4 as a deluxe upgrade of GT5 but with better graphics and some novelties which, after all, is what everyone wants, isn't it?
