A lot of the very quick times are done by corner drifting, put all the aids to off and you will be quicker but it will take a good few laps to get used to how twitchy the car is.
I just did one go on each of the warm up events and moved on, can go back to them another time.

Loading times in the demo seem quicker than in GT5 going from memory, mind you there are no other cars on track to load I suppose.

Will send you a friend request tonight tickle so can compare some times.

I remembered when they first showed GT5 the developers commented on how fast the loading was, but the final game didn't turn out that way.

I personally would prefer 8 cars with realistic AI spread out on the track than a 12 pack of cars grouped together.

Yeah, visually there's not much between the 2 versions apart from a bit of polish.

It seems the graphics and the audio in GT5 were optimised for high end setups. For example the dynamic range in brightness in GT 5 was so high that unless you were playing on a top end plasma TV in a dark room, a lot of highlight or shadow clipping occurred as you can see on the top video with the sky being a whitewash.

Similarly with the audio. Many people complained but in fairness the dynamic range was so high that most people playing on TV speakers could not replicate the intensity required to bring out the nuances in the audio unless you used a 5.1 setup with fairly large speakers and a few hundred pounds for an amplifier (and adjusted the in game sound range options).

              Sounds like a plan.

Yep in game (once you get to the Academy parts, not for the Sunday Cup etc) and online here

some of the top times and videos are just perfection. Already.

There's a new event being released on the 29th July which features a '13 Shulze Motorsport Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 N24 on the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.

You can trial it by changing the date on your PS3 but I'm not sure if it will allow times set before the official event to entered or not, at least you can get a bit of practice before then but I suppose they may patch it out.

only difference i really noticed from the video was the shadows were a bit better

I quite like racing games but always felt actual racing skill needed more of a emphasis always felt it was more to do with upgrading

to give a example i am a major fan of top gear and with that you always saw the difference in skill levels like with the reasonably price car or that challenge where the german lady in the van was doing better then a lot of people in better cars and that was purely down to skill

Just feel so far never really got that in a driving game (also in single player having a realistic AI)

Whats the take on a damage model from the start in 6?. Its was available at the higher levels in 5?

Get two identical cars, same amount of cash and let's race. I will beat you every time. There is a skill to racing and a skill to tuning. If you know really what you are doing, there is quite an advantage.

Model damage was a joke in GT5. I took a screenshot of damage to my RX7 after smashing into a wall head on at 200 mph.

Gave the demo a go. Like the new lick of paint its had in the menus, very EA/FIFA in places.

Handling model seems better than before, so that's good too. I just hope that the online mode is better than GT5 AND it actually has online leaderboards this time, otherwise it is going to be the same-old thing all over again in Single Player. Endless grinding, and the fact that the CPU AI is as staid as its always been.

The AI cars in the demo aren't racing at all, they are taking a trip to the shops. On every track in every car, I started last and was in first place on the first lap. But again as pointed out MANY times to me, this is a driving game, not a racing game? But I am still confused as to why they then put other cars on the track, is this a traffic simulator? On a race circuit like Suzuka?

For anyone with a steering wheel I'd imagine this is essential stuff. For the other 99.9 percent of eveyone else, I can't see anyone picking this up when its released in 2014, since the next-gen will already be out a few months by then.
