My "perfect" 10, not necessarily games that I like, but those that were revolutionary, or technically and creatively a level above their time.

I can't do objective 10s (true objectivity doesn't exist) so my 10s are those games I enjoyed most. And they are:

Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Mario 64, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, Virtua Fighter, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Galaxy, Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead.

I know these are mainstream and far from perfect in most people's eyes but I loved all of them and ploughed hours and hours into each.

Super Mario World - Hours of play during a drug infested summer back in 1990. Perfection.

Zelda: LTTP - Played again recently and just as good.

Secret of Mana - I was waiting for a new Zelda and bought this on US import, was hoping for it to be half as good, and preferred it!

ICO - Bought this on import and didn't play it for ages, then I put it on for a quick go before bed at 2am and played till 4am, then left work early to get back and finish it. My favourite game of all time.

Super Street Fighter II - played this for so many years it has to get a 10.

Castlevania IV - Something about that game that blew me away, the mode 7 graphics in that same summer of drugs may have twisted my perception slightly, but it still amazed me.

Virtua Tennis - Just because we all played it for such a long time, could easily be Super Tennis though I suppose.

Super Mario 64 - Got this on Jap release day, well day after Jap launch date and just fell for it big time, although when I played the English language version didn't like it as much, the Jap one felt more like an adventure than a platformer.

Zelda: OOT - Never thought I would like a Zelda as much as LTTP and the this came out.

Pulstar - Absolutely adore this shooter and one game my wife also loves.

That is my 10, but have to admit there is one game that gets an 11, and that is ......

Singstar - Just perfect party fodder that we have been playing at least once a week for the last 400 odd weekends. How many game series can grab you like that??!!

Virtua Tennis - Just because we all played it for such a long time, could easily be Super Tennis though I suppose.

I loved VT in the day but I could never give it a ten because you can't hit the ball out and the shot angles are far too limited. Super Tennis all the way.

I think you're probably right, OK, so I will give Super Tennis a 10 instead.
Mind you, many of my 10's come from both an age where gaming was everything to me and through those wonderful rose tinted glasses most gamers must have got in some special edition import back in the day.
