I still use my CRT everyday. It is hooked up to my SNES,PS2 and Wii and it looks fantastic, even my 360 looked good on it.
I will keep a mint CRT for as long as it works, retro just does not work on HD. I am fine with 2d stuff but 480p 3D looks utter ****e.

I only got an LCD because my wife wanted one, it is nice too and xbox certainly looks great on it as does tv. I have them set side by side with my new entertainment unit installed in my new place, will post pics soon.

I am looking for a possible change to an EDTV though, an LCD with max resolution 480p but I have no idea how it will look. In theory it should give a very good image.

Yep, still got some CRT loveliness. They're all Trinitrons - a 28" widescreen, a 21" that used to be used on the Banjo-Tooie team and that's now used by my son for DVDs and the SFC, N64, Gamecube, PS2 and DC and a lovely little 12" that I got in '85 (and doesn't even have a scart) that gets used for the 2600, Coleco etc.

I have 4 CRTs which see regular use, in addition to a Samsung HD TV.

          1 x portable TV, 14in. (OK, this isn't used)

2 x 21in standard TV (one in the lounge, one upstairs for guests, each with VHS players)

1 x 28in widescreen (in the billiards room for retro consoles)

Each represents one of my many collected wives. Or at least what's left of them.

I was lying. It's literally just a videogame/computer/film room. I suppose if I put a billiard table in there it would become one though...

I use a 21" Sony Trinitron for all my retro gaming, keeping my eye out for a 29" inch Trinitron though.

                  Amiga 1081.

Seems to screw up if I leave it on without a signal though, thinking overheating. Haven't used it for a while now. Shame really.

Want a nice looking 14" Trinitron now I think, for durability. A 26 year old CRT isn't the best option.

EDIT: GameCube looks godlike through it.

Gave mine to nephews about 5 years ago after I got my LCD. Was Sony 29 inch jobbie.

WOnder if the retro consoles in the loft will ever be playable now.

N64 via RGB scart looks fantastic on my 42" plasma, as do the GC (component) and DC (RGB scart or VGA). Far more vivid colours than my CRTs could ever manage. They don't look nearly as good on some swanky LCDs I've tried. I don't have any earlier retro to try out.

I only have CRT TVs/Monitors at the moment. Used to have a 32" Samsung LCD TV when I lived at home but sold it as I wasn't using it for anything and went back to using a 21" CRT for retro stuff. I recently picked up a 360 so figured I should get another HD telly. Can't really justify getting the one I want right now though so I picked up one of those Samsung Slimline CRT TVs from a few years back for ?50 and stuck the old CRT in the bedroom. I also sold my gaming PC/TFT 6 months ago since I wasn't using it much for new/demanding stuff anymore and got myself a laptop and 90s gaming PC with a CRT Monitor.

Can anyone tell me more about 'geometry tweaks'?

What can you achieve, and how do you do it?

I have a 21" Trinitron and wondered if there's a way to fix the slight overscan I get with the Neo Geo.

For DC surely a fast response time LCD with good scaling and a DC VGA box.

Look up the model number and "service menu" or "engineer menu"
