I only really buy Games TM now, because I appreciate their enthusiasm and find their tastes are close to my own. If there's an interesting feature in Edge I'll pick it up too, but I tend to just take a look in Smiths.

I've also got a subscription to CUBE magazine, but I got it for free.

I used to buy a lot of games magazines, I was a subscriber to Edge for about eight years and usually bought another couple of platform-specific mags each month. But no more. Edge ran out of ideas a while ago as far as I'm concerned and I quickly realised that the other mags were utter bollocks. These days I get pretty much everything I need from the internet. It's faster with news, screengrabs and videos obviously, and I've come to realise that printed reviews are rarely any more relevent to me than those on the web.

Occasionally I'll stump up the cash if there's a demo I want to play, but each time the magazine goes straight in the bin.

www.insertcredit.com is fairly highbrow, but I will continue to buy Edge as long as it retains its current standard. Even if it is not as good now as it has been, it is still for me an engrossing read.

I subscribe to Edge and Games TM for the sole purpose of reading on the ****ter!

Make of that what you will but I love curry and you can't beat reading whilst teasing out a monster length of cable.

I don't like reading long articles and reviews on a computer and so buy Edge for these, while i use the net for up-to-date news and such

I used to buy heaps of them in the late 90's before I had the net on. After I got the net on I realised all those "official" magazines that claimed to give independant views was all just propaganda. Now I find that i'll buy gamesTM every now and then but with all the magazines all the info is old and I already know of it all. Most of the time i'll still read the mags but only in the shop then put it back on the shelf

Already been said, but there's only so many Tampax packets, shampoo ingredients and talcum powder best before dates you can read before you realise you need a mag in there.
