That's the thing isn't it. There's nothing more official about then NGX than playing the game on a modded PSP with emulator.

At least you know what you getting with Neo-Geo emulated on a PSP - a solid emulation experience that doesn't pretend to be authentic.

The NGX uses a shoddy port of Final Burn Alpha for highly flawed emulation, ffs. Tommo couldn't even be bothered to make sure that the thing emulated Neo-Geo games properly, never mind that the build quality of the actual NGX hardware was up to any kind of decent standard. And then they had the audacity to try and charge ?200/$200 for it.

Having the letters SNK on it doesn't mean that the NGX isn't a piece of sh1t. Standards corrupted.

Information had been coming out, apparently from inside Tommo, that they were planning release a firmware update to make the NGX open source in light of the breakdown in relations between Tommo and SNK playmore, sort of a **** you SNKP I guess. I assume this is it? Obviously made to look as though it's come from another unrelated source.

This is hardly a surprise, technically speaking - this piece of sh1t does have a (considerably gimped) version of FBA on it that always had the capability to run said formats in the first place (rather than, you know, dedicated software that would run Neo Geo games properly).

Nothing that you can't already do much better and much cheaper with a PSP/Go or a Dingoo.
