Bit of a bump, know how most of you feel re the handheld machine, but how were the dock and joystick with the Gold edition?

EDIT: was it only ever the Gold edition that got sold?

The dock looks like it had about 50p worth of electronics inside and weighed as much as a Chinese takeaway tub. The joystick I'm not really sure about, but I don't rate actual AES sticks much.

Some of the mince you've bought and you wouldn't buy a machine that has been cracked to play all of the new geo library (albeit by emulation) and by all accounts the control stick is alright

But like you I've also bought tons of mince over the years (mince has been used to circumvent the swear filter )

And the "games" are a ROM on an SD card. The whole thing is a joke.

I think the attraction of Neo Geo games to most is that they do cost ?100s a cart and are difficult to get hold of. Buying a machine with the entire library on Amazon for ?10 probably negates all the S&M/50 Shades of Plastic pleasure the sick ******** derive from collecting/playing Neo Geo.

Regardless, I wouldn't buy one for a tenner, from what I've seen the machine looks like a poor Chinese knock-off of a GBA and if I wanted to play Neo Geo on the cheap I could get the ROMs and a build of MAME easily enough.

I think one of their biggest mistakes was releasing so many games one cart.

The Neo Geo is the perfect machine for the equivalent of those magazines you get at WHSmiths where every issue comes with a metal model of one of the ships from Star Trek. Imagine if over a 2-year period, with a few per-month, you got an amazing range of Neo-Geo games, along with a GamesTM-style (in terms of printing) magazine with loads of info about the games, the developers, everything like that.

That'd be an amazing thing.

quite easily get a Nintendo sticker of sorts and put it on the back of the console and you will be foaming at the mouth for one

Don't mean to be flippant but if I had to pick one person it would be yourself as it strikes me that neo geo games aren't your cup of tea

Neo geo carts are really difficult to get ahold of being honest apart from a couple but money talks and if you have the money you can amass a huge collection in no time, there is a guy here who had a full set of games in around 3 months and bought that much, games like overtop or was it twinkle star sprites were given away free

I bought one from new (neo geo X) and all the games because i let my heart rule the decision and felt robbed looking at all the videos of it online and the negative remarks, it was so skunnered that I never opened it and fired it up the loft

I wouldn't sell it however
