This game for me was one the psone highlights, I know i'm possibly in the minority but that game was class even though it looked old even back then

Lets hope this new forza game captures even 10% of that and I walk away happy.

The gameplay was indeed great. I used to play it with a wheel, drifting around the corners at speed.

Well yeah, but not suprising as (yet again) we are racing in the USA folks!

Looks like a nice middle ground between Forza and NFS: Most Wanted...

I guess I'll be picking up both.

I have quite LITERALLY spat my drink out at the Season Pass pricing.
Been confirmed at 4000 MSP (that's like ?30!)
?39.99 for game and ?30 for content, wow the future truly is bright.

Suppose I should list the actual content.

              Expansion Pack (18th Dec)
6 car packs (6 cars per car pack/36 cars total)
              Launch car pack.

will be like your paying upfront for the game engine and then having to pay again for the actual game

I guess it's a slightly different model to the expansion pack,. Battlefield 3 gets all this extra addon content as part of it's season pass instead of a retail release expansion like BC2 got.

I bet more people have seasons passes than bought Vietnam.

Maybe more companies should do it like Polyphony and charge you ?25 for a demo then ?40 for the game?

thing is with season passes like with borderlands 2 is you really dont know what you will get at least when you get the game i at least know what i am getting but with season passes often its not clear (plus i always get this horrible feeling of its mostly content that was held back purely for the dlc)

if they used the season pass model with borderlands 1 (depending on the price of course) i would have been annoyed as only the last two dlcs for that game would have been worth getting ...for me anyway

Forza horizon i will probably wait for the inevitable game of the year edition

You only save 17% by buying this pass, than individual DLC content.
There may be a couple of cars in the packs you just don't like and want to play, so paying for what you want is always the better option.
If there is one thing that grates my cheddar it's pre-ordering DLC and giving a dev your money upfront, all this to make content that will be released throughout the year, so you patiently wait for it, whilst they have your money in the bank.
Another one is packs that feel like they are 'Pay to Win'
Look at 'car pack 4' it has the brand new "X" car, fastest car in the game.
Oh that's great now I have to race online against people who have car pack 4 and the fastest car. Thus segregation begins and if your not part of the DLC crowd you are quite literally, left behind.

Personally i just dont see the point of paying ?40 for a game, then paying more money for a season pass when like you say, there is no idea to what exactly your going to get. Also with so many games coming out over the next 6 months, once i have put in a hours of gameplay until i have seen/played enough out of a game i will then pretty much put it away to play something new, apart from couple of games, Skyrim for example.

For me personally Forza Horizon is one of my most anticipated games over the coming months but there is no way im paying ?40 for the game then a further ?30 for DLC which i dont know what it is and what can this be other than just more cars, some of which i probably would not want. This really is part of the industry that is really starting to piss me right off. Sad thing is so many people buy these things, i just wonder where its going to end up.

This season pass thing is getting out of hand.

I bought the limited edition Forza 4 which nabbed me some extra cars but I didnt bother with the season pass because as some have mentioned you're paying for stuff with no disclosure of what you're actually getting. The fact Forza 4 has only received car packs means I am happy I didnt shell out. You can buy the odd one individually if you really must, plus I believe one car in each pack was actually free anyway.

The only DLC pack I did buy for Forza 4 was the Porsche pack when it dropped by 50% the other week.

As for BF3. They screwed everyone over with their pricing model. Announcing Premium membership for a high price and then shortly after the first DLC arrived announcing a lower priced re-release at bricks and mortars stores with the Premium membership included. As such if people had held off buying the Premium membership until now (about 2-3 months) they can now pick up the game and the membership for $10 more than the price of the Premium membership as a digital purchase.

Bastards. I'd honestly have waited (especially given the first pack was Close Quarters), re-bought a new copy and sold my old one.

Unfortunately this season pass thing isnt going away and it seems developers like to snare people whilst the hype is still high for their game and lock them in for the duration. They get the revenue immediately, we get a slight saving compared to buying it all individually but the crux of it is we actually dont know what we're buying and whether we would want it all anyway.

People should stop buying DLC and season passes etc... I'd be happy if there were another industry crash. I'm sure it would be good for gaming. If everything collapsed for a couple of years.. I think gaming would come back stronger with more respect from publishers towards gamers.

Season pass in Forza 4 was a complete waste of money. Constantly unlocking car "packs", and then the additional Porsche pack to boot to buy!. Not a single new track in sight.
