I think Mass Effect 3 is great, but it's not perfect and could make some criticisms of it myself, however the ones that edge made in the comments posted here aren't really criticisms as much as they are things that are untrue and even if they were true wouldn't be technically bad things for many people anyway.

If a review is good then people will understand the criticisms presented even if they like the game more or less than the reviewer did. Edge reviews annoy a lot of people though because their criticisms often seem to stem from nowhere and are based around things that actually aren't true about the game, it's not their opinions that are the problem, it's that they present things as fact when they aren't and are often completely made up. As I stated earlier, some of their reviews read like the reviewer hasn't played a game, he's just guessing and typing things he think sounds good.

I'm gald this marks the end of my EDGE sub. Not only is their review of Binary Domain utterly laughable, its also a complete and utter joke to try and even compare Mass Effect 3 to Gears of War 3.

No and its nothing to do with the reviews, Its just he mag such a poor read these days with poor features and previews and a dire news section, Area's a few years back EDGE used to be the best at

Gave up on Edge ages ago. And these threads seem to be appearing on lots of gaming sites.

There are lots of reviews I disagree with but I don't feel they are all pretentious drivle written by people who dont even seem to have played the game they are reviewing. But that's the feeling I get when I read edge reviews.

Looking forward to reading the Mass Effect 3 review as wanting to purchase it in ye future. Thought they would have given it a nine but eight seems fair. Still think Edge get people to Review who are not a fan of the genre they are reviewing though. The SSX score seems terribly low though, as with Resident Evil: Rev, Review and the Mortal Kombat Review I do think Edge of late occasionally drop the ball more than they used to. Some reviews not Mass Effect seem a bit off ye mark compared to the rest of ye world or Metacritic for example.
