Fears over Origin / DRM woes on PC alleviated as we discover that the top-down perspective that made the original game 1000 times better on PC than consoles is present on consoles too this time around. This means I can but the game on PS4 rather than torrenting the PC version once it's cracked. Sadly I'll be contributing to sending the wrong message to EA by doing this. Anyway, 10 minutes of footage:

I try to keep my expectations low, because BioWare (EA) always makes promises they can't keep, but that does look mighty tasty and the fantasy nerd in me cannot wait getting to explore all those vast landscapes!

He mentioned that there are two nations in the game; Orlais (France basically) and Ferelden (from Dragon Age Origins), so those two are probably the only (main) areas in the game. I was kinda hoping to see other new places like Tevinter Empire etc. but if those two are well-developed then I'm happy with just those two. Hopefully there's atleast two major cities and some smaller towns/villages in the game. I always love the settled areas best in any RPG with NPCs for quests etc.

Oh and the dragon looks pretty good, the flame effect is particularly nice. Good to see the tactical view back too.

Looks nice. Always wanted to go to Orlais.

Dragon Age Origins became a meta-game to me after a while. It was all about setting up the AI for my party and letting them get on with it. If I had to interfere at any time I felt I'd failed.

That video is quite stunning, nice to see some in game video, is this the PC version or PS4/Xone?

It shows buttons green "A" and red "B" on the vid, so I'd wager it's Xbox One.

I did see the button prompts on the screen, but could be a Xbox pad plugged in, as was the case with the Witcher 3 demo i was watching on Gamespot the other night.

some longer (supposedly) PS4 footage released:

looks very good overall but it's already clear to see the graphical downgrades from the PC version in the lack of dynamic shadows and texture quality, eg. costumes textures. can't wait to play this at the gamescom in August!

Staying away from any of the vids but I did give this a listen, it's the main theme:

Lead Them or Fall. Releasing from November 18 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. www.dragonage.com

23 days to finish Origins (I'm at the Landsmeet), Dragon Age 2 and finish reading Asunder. Should be doable! Really excited about Inquisition.
