    Battlefield Premium

EA will unveil Battlefield Premium, a rival to Activision's Call of Duty Elite subscription service, at its E3 press co…

Well, we know that Call of Duty Elite has many a person who hates it, so how will this fare? Said to be readying for announcement on June 4th is Battlefield Premium, basically exactly the same service as Elite.

Following the Battlefield 3 DLC release Close Quarters on June 12th, there is said to be a bonus content release in August followed by the Armoured Kill DLC in autumn and what was said to be the final expansion End Game in the winter however an unannounced fifth expansion for March 2013 is rumoured. No doubt all these DLC releases would be included within an Premium subscription.

Feels like this is a little late to the game for Battlefield, you think they would have done this in line with a new game. Props to them if they can sell it though.

I'll be buying any DLC for BF3, so if it's guaranteed cheaper for the remaining items, I'm in, if it's a one off payment.
I'm happy to do this because I like the game.

What I don't want it to be is a yearly sub that includes future BF games that we don't yet know are any good.

Same goes for any future games - there's no way I'm signing up to Elite or Premium packs until I've tried the main game to see if it's any good. So glad I didn't bother with CoD Elite (enjoyed SP, but wasn't having enough fun with the MP).

For all the DLC? I would get this for sure.

Their opinions are literally worthless to Activision though, 2 million people have signed up as paid members so far .

As BF3 was sub-par to Bad Company 2 I can't see me biting.

Me neither, especially now they've 'closed' loads of the official servers

Yeah, it was all an 'accident' EA would never do anything to upset its loyal fans.

Is this what ea do now.
Oh were closing madden 2012 servers guys.
                  Backlash!!
Oh were sorry that was an error.
Were actually closing the Create servers.
                  Silence.
                  Thank god, escaped that one.

'We aren't closing servers, we are renting them out so people can password protect them and you still can't play'

They've re-opened the servers due to a backlash, which is great because I am sick of all these 1000 ticket marathon sessions people think are "awesome" right now.

Premium BF3? Hmm it really depends what you get for your coin doesnt it? I saw in a rumour report premium members would get a "special knife and black dog tag" along with "special" assignments. If that is what they're dangling as a carrot they can get lost. If however they perhaps offered a % decrease in cost off the currently announced DLC and some premium only DLC like classic BFBC2 maps then I'd be in.

I know we've got this close quarters DLC coming in the next few weeks but really BF3 is missing maps right now. It's had one DLC pack since December and the current map rotation is as stale as it gets. These close quarter maps wont bring anything new to the table for Conquest and the Armoured DLC is way off.
