More worryingly, premium members skip to the front of server queues. So if me and my mates are playing and someone non-premium wants to join us, they might be waiting forever in a queue of 2 people. So like, it's not really a queue.

Shame really, as I play just often enough to want the features (3-4 hours a week, might pick up some of the expansions) and not quite often enough for it to be worth the money.

So to be sure you have to buy Premium via the in-game store and not the PSN itself?

Why is there even a purchase button on the PSN in that case? Seems a bit odd. Perhaps they know people will get caught out, but it'll still register as a purchase for their sales figures. </conspiracy>
      Kept you waiting, huh?

I paid $52.49 for the limited edition including the B2K pack and then $49.99 for Premium. I'm looking at it as $12.50 for each DLC which isn't too bad. I'm not buying another BF or MW game though. Close Quarters wasn't working last night anyway so there'll probably be another patch later today, or DICE will c*ckslap their servers into working properly.

At least you are getting Close Quarters now ... 360 owners have to wait till the 12th and thats early for us!

Caved and bought this. Looking forward to all the DLC. Have had more time on BF3 than any other current gen game.

Im really enjoying the new maps and Gun Master ripped right from COD's gun game, though again people staying together is tricky , well worth the admission money.

With the messy server system that's in place at the moment and the way Premium worked (which will again fragment the userbase) I felt like this was a proper all in or all out scenario. I've opted for out and sold the game. Hopefully a better approach will win out for Bad Company 3/BF4

Just caught up with this whole Premium thing. So 1p short of ?40 for 4 maps packs (its all about the maps, not the other stuff).

Mmmmm. Thats more than the original game cost me! On the positive side it looks like this has been in development AFTER the game was released, so its not like its unlockable crap already on the disc, nor something that was taken out of the finished game to sell to you later.

I guess DLC is proping the game industry up? While pretty much killing (my) interest in gaming longer-term. Forza 4 has been terrible for this, I think this is going to be the business model for all the really popular games going forward.

I wonder what new subs service Activision are cooking up for the next COD? I reckon its going to be like Forza's "Season Pass", you get about 3 months stuff and then they announce another load of DLC stuff your not entitled to, inviviting you to pay out again!

Won't be long before your paying ?80-?100 to get the full game, which will last you about 2 years before they switch the servers off. Unlike the import market of old, when you bought a ?100 game it would still work today. Is your ?80+ investment in BF3 going to ensure you can play it long after BF4 is out?

Well post above what nonsense and bias rubbish are you talking englishbob, all little homework would show battlefield BC 2 servers are still up and that over 2 years ago, so im pretty sure DICE will be supporting BF3 for at least 3 or more years yet,as BF3 is the biggest selling in the franchise.

It's called COD Elite and it was the runaway success of that 2 years ago that have lead EA to go with Premium

No need to be a prick about it.

Sorry, only factual posts from now on. I'll PM you first so you can moderate my comments first before posting next time. Any particular thread, this one, all of them, shall I just **** off?
