The most annoying thing as a dreamcast owner was the lack of a decent football game. Especially when there were damn good games for nearly every other sport!

Shocked to read Buggy Heat getting praised. I thought it was damn near unplayable!

Dreamcast is a winter console for me. Shenmue is the only DC game I keep going back to and it has to be played over Christmas. It's the law.

I would say that is the Cube -where a let of average games seem to get more praise than they should imo. I think the difference is with the DC is that it had a short life span and in that time it had a great number of great games, which made people overlook the crap on the system. I really don't get why people rave about the DC so much in the 1st place True be told I enjoyed the Saturn, Mega CD, Master system , X-Box and Snes far more , but that's me

A lot of its tied to the memories at the time. I remember it being a brilliant system to own that was a little ahead of the curve in some regards and had loads of good fun games to play at a consistent rate. Most of them weren't worth ?40 a pop though which is where the DC suffered quite a lot... not that many paid for their games after the first 12 months

Always wanted to try D2 and could have picked it up from CEX at the time for under a tenner but didn't. Even though it was also on the PS Rayman 2 on the DC is still one of the best looking games and certainly one of the best platformer I know. Soul Reaver runs it a close second with the two Tomb Raider ports and the much maligned Shadow Man (much better on DC) following up behind. Although it wasn't awful I wish Evil Twin had been better (later ported to PS2) because that was a fine looking DC platformer too. But lets not forget that great DC console exclusive The Nomad Soul - loved it.

My 'guilty' DC game is also another that also came out on the PS: Millenium Soldier: Expendable - a good looking, run and gun arcade shooter. Just seemed to work so well on the DC. But apart form The Nomad Soul the one exlusive I really got into was Dragons Blood (aka Draconus: Cult of the Wrym) - odd, floaty animation and pushed the DC too far quite often but I thought it was a cracking hack and slash/adventure at the time. Last mention: the DC version of Panzer Front the best version of the best ever console tank combat 'sim'.

I still love to play TAITO Hat trick Hero games too
You are a man after my own heart TA! The Hat Trick Hero games were wonderful, remember days at the seaside playing them and the Super Sidekick games - awesome fun.

Anyone know if this brand of VGA cable is much cop?

I love the Dreamcast. I always have one hooked up. Mainly to play Giant Gram 2000. Still the best arcade wrestling style game ever released. But there are so many other great games.

Giant Gram 2000 is indeed awesome. In multiplayer its crap though. Shame.

Yeah Giant Gram was superb. Not a huge wrestling fan myself but played it a fair bit and it was huge in my local indie.

Hooked mine up to my new TV today via VGA for some KoF and JSR lovin'!

System is still amazing. Everything just seems so bright and colourful in SEGAs own games like JSR and Sonic and reminds me of a simpler time when the games were all about gameplay rather than Achievements, Trophies and online multiplayer.

i too use one of those, works a treat. that particular listing seems a bit pricey though I reckon.

EDIT - crikey, seems they've all hiked the price up. I was too stingey to spend ?20 on one last year

Also Fire Pro Wrestling D was the best wrestling game ever. Until Fire Pro R came out on the ps2...
