That's all I want. A 2D 3DS game...even if it has to be in 3D, a proper 2D Metroid, with full controls. No first person rockets etc. Keep everything flowing, no stop and pop. It isn't Gears of War!

Well i have had a break from E3 and i have had time to put thins a bit into perspective. I like just about everyone else on here could just not believe how bad that was from Nintendo. Some of you have said that Nintendo cant please people sometimes, they either cant have enough 3rd party support i.e Batman and Mass Effect 3 or they want first party games at launch. But i think we have seen from the real overkill of the Mario games that if they did this with Zelda, Metroid etc then we would eventually have the same problems with the current Mario games, that in my opinion any announcemt of a new Mario game now is rather cold when a few years ago i would have been jumping with excitement, if Nintendo are not carefull this will become there Call Of Duty.
Now this leads me onto my biggest complaint. When they showed the 3DS for the first at time at E3 they showed a huge amount of game footage of games in production, from memory they have done this with Gamecube and the N64 before that, i just can not fathom why they chose not to do this for Wii U. That little teaser for me has always been my incentive to really want a Nintendo console on day 1. With Wiii U i have absolutly no idea what they have in production and for me there is just no incentive to go and purchase on launch day.
Im sorry Batman Arkham City is a year old game that can be brought for ?10 or so for Xbox/PS3 and i dont know who Reggie is kidding if he says its not the same game, it is just with some touchscreen stuff, wow. Again same thing for Mass Effect 3, already been there and done that, just like most people, AC3? No thanks i can just buy the same game on Xbox/PS3 im sure most people will have one of, im not going to spend ?250+ on new hardware just for the luxuary of fancy, tagged on touch screen stuff, which will more than likely just be some inventory thing.
Now i know its early days and all these problems could very well sorted by launch, more games could well be shown but if the 3DS launch is anything to go by i wont hold my breath. Maybe they have much more to reveal as the weeks and months go by but from first impressions of a new generation of Nintendo hardware its not a good one, the fact they did not even mention the actuall console was very strange as surely its equally as important as the controller. Im a Nintendo fan, have been since the NES days and i love there games, i really really hope they can pull this off as my worry is if this fails then we may in the furture see a very different Nintendo, i dont care how much Yen they have in the bank to keep them going for decades no company is unsinkable, just ask Sega and Atari.

Just watched the conference, it was disappointing to say the least. P-100 looks great and pulls a few genres together in a fun way.
However, Batman and Mass Effect 3? what fool decided to show that at E3? surely that's something you sly out on a rainy Wednesday not a global Video game show.
If these are the launch games then no purchase at launch for me. what a crap E3 from the big 3.
Always Tokyo Game show I guess........

Can't understand why people are moaning about launch ports being shown. They're hyping a console launch and it's not like the games are a bunch of stinkers. There are plenty of people yet to play them.
No amazing surprises I guess, and I would have liked a bigger deal made of Pikmin 3. P-100 looks wonderful, Zombi U shows promise and is looking like it could be proper survival horror.
I think Nintendo's approach is really reassuring - Even Nintendo Land looked like a much better way of presenting a minigame bundle. The New Mario Bros game looked lovely with its further embellished art-style, and on the 3DS side I thought Paper Mario looked awesome.
I dunno, maybe I just got tired of all the depressing headshots and first-person grinding in the other conferences, but I think Nintendo did a good job.Last edited by crocky-chocky; 05-06-2012, 20:44.

I think they have enough internal dev teams themselves, the concern for me is it seems to be that the cupboard is more than just a little bit bare in terms of third paty support for Wii U, at least for the moment. The fact nothing from EA, Activision, Capcom etc was even mentioned being in development, not even on a slide like when the 3DS was announced properly 2 years ago was shown. It cant be down to time contraints to what they can show during the course of the hour or so they had, why spend 10mins on Nintendo Land or whatever they are calling it. I would suggest that means they are all sitting on the fence before ploughing serious money into Wii U.
