    Sony E3 Conference Thread

Predictions and thoughts on Sony's E3 2012 conference.

Vita price cut, plus some bloody games finally for it . Gaikai streaming. PS4 mentioned if MS say something about XBox720. Quantic Dreams: Kara, GOW that's all the rumors that are most likely to happen that I know.

The Gaikai could be interesting but mostly I just want them to show some love to the Vita

Yeah, this is pretty much sink or swim for the Vita. Drop the price 50 bucks, announce UNIQUE games (not bloody ports) for it and let me use buttons on the main menu.

Other than that they will probably announce a handful of new PS3 games, sidestepping The Last Guardian completely, and ending it with a smirky comment about how PS4 is in development and that it will be "awesome".

It is not sink or swim for the Vita. Jesus H. Corbett.
          Kept you waiting, huh?

Hey, I enjoy my Vita, I really do. But when several large game shops have started to remove it from their shops, something needs to be done. And also, it doesn't even sell in Japan.

Which shops? In Japan or over here?

In Norway. Here many local shops have stopped stocking new Vita software and hardware since the launch.

Sometimes I forget that this place isn't NTSC-UK anymore. They're still in healthy supply over here, even if the software range is a bit sparse. Hopefully E3 will beef that up a bit. I wouldn't write off the console just yet.

Think most people are guilty of it, just one of those things. Heard some interesting bits about Games on Demand in Europe Xbox and psn, all us UK people rightfully saying Jesus 49.99 for a title is shocking, some people were saying it was literally the only means of them getting the game and the price wasn't too bad in comparison to retail.
Anyways sonys new tag at E3 is "Never stop playing" which has me to think stuff like Little Big Planet Karting and Sony Smash Brothers will be cross platform vita/ps3 play, take it on the go. Of course the Cloud Gaming is out the bag but no doubt still a lot of details to confirm about that.

I haven't written it off, far from it. Simply saying that Sony needs to address its current issues at E3 for it be profitable for them. I am however positive that they have something planned for it, so I'm not worried.

If Sony thought it was in trouble or anywhere close to it, they'd drop it like a pile of bricks, that's usually what they do.

It wouldn't be sensible to drop it overnight. They would at least release what ever content currently in production (with the related marketing push presumably already paid for), sell out all manufactured machines, and deploy all already produced and signed commercial deals. So "dropping" it would easily take a year or maybe two. And who knows how the gaming landscape would look like by then. So if they were to effectively drop it, we wouldn't really know for long after.

Sony are really the last people I'm waiting for Vita games from, to be honest. I find many of their core franchises a bit charmless. I'm hoping that a strong show of support for the Vita at E3 brings more third party developers on board. Wouldn't be surprised if a COD game was announced.
