Like reviewers, who were provided with both the console and game.

Compare them to the shockingly poor Gamespot one, i mean everyone is entitled to there opinion but that is one serious piece of awful journalism, its almost as if the reviewer is trying to play it life a FPS when its just not meant to be played that way at all and it doesn't really go into any great detail.
To be fair that's a bit of straw manning to his argument. His issues were with the melee dominant gameplay mechanics that are in place, he never said he wanted a FPS. The only reason he mentioned guns was to illustrate that they at least added variety to a highly repetitive melee combat system. That is not the same thing as marking a game down for not being Call of Duty.

What is being suggested is that a reviewer who is provided with a console will not provide an unbiased opinion.

Oh. Well I completely disagree with that. A reviewer may provide a biased opinion based on any number of things but I'd have thought that if you are someone who has access to all consoles and all games, for free and you are given a console and a game with no financial input from yourself then you ought to be able to just take that experience and report on how fun it is.

Doesn't work like that sadly as we all know that it doesn't just come down to getting a free console and games, it also comes down to hospitality, events, parties, free flights etc. Not to mention advertising revenue as well. A reviewer shuold be unbiased otherwise there is no point in reviewing something. Its very difficult to be completely unbiased in this world though.

I agree with that, I know that I've been far less attached to games I've been given promos for or have obtained via other means. Likewise, when I was a teenager and every game was a big investment all games I got were great, regardless of how good they actually were.

The game is realistic for London , if a real zombie outbreak happened in London you would not easily be able to find guns , a good old cricket bat would be your best option , If they make a sequel set in america it will be far more gun heavy , you can find guns in every other household :S

Every time I see this game it does remind me of condemned which is no bad thing.

I like reading reviews in magazine and online etc but i only use them as a rough guide as to what to expect from a game i dont choose to buy a game or not based on any published reviews. What i tend to do is read what people on here and elsewhere say and make a judgement for myself. This way i see both good, bad and somewhere in the middle opinions. Also at the end of the day i know what games i like, and if its a sequel to a game series then i pretty much already know if im going to like it or not.

It means that you're overgeneralising. Both games have zombies so they're the same.

Dark Souls and Skyrim both have swords and dragons so they must be identical games too.

Skyrim also has Zombies (of a sort)!

Giantbomb just completed it and impressions are nice.

It's a short week due to the holidays, so we're trying to cram in as much as we can today. Also, we look in on Patrick moments after he finished ZombiU.
