Next up is another one of those 'always saw it on the shelves' titles that I paid no attention to. It was one of Eidos's many struggling titles during the last gen era.

      Game 011 - 25 To Life
PC, Playstation 2 and Xbox - Description:
"25 to Life is the game the streets have been waiting for. Play as either cops or gangsters, in this urban action third person shooter. The game delivers intense Online gameplay for up to 16 players, as well as a rich single player experience. Set in the heart of today's cities, experience the gritty lifestyles of police task forces or as a gangster survive the local neighbourhood thugs while fighting your way up the ranks. Bust out of prison, or infiltrate the inner sanctum of the drug lord's mansion, your knowledge of the streets will be put to the test because... 25 to Life IS the streets!"

I remember some dodgy reviews of this but that's about all...

        Game 012 - The Plan
        Playstation 2 - Description:
"In this heist-based game titled The Plan, you play as Robert Taylor, ringleader of a gang of professional thieves out to steal two famous Rembrandt paintings and sell them for a nice profit."

London Taxi has the most hilarious pop up I've seen in a very long time

I've got Corvette somewhere in my backlog, reminds me of the Ford race series which is good fun.

                    And for today's entry:

Game 013 - Groove Rider: Slot Car Thunder
Xbox, Playstation 2, PSN - Description:
"Grooverider is a fast-paced, slot-car racing game featuring virtual model race courses, a multitude of environments and tracks and the ability to 'create your own' track through the in-game editor.Different voltage cars and models challenge gamers to test their racing dexterity to unlock all areas in this high-speed battle of stamina and skill."

The hardest part of that game, I'm guessing, is the speed. Properly whips along

I'm not around much tomorrow so again we get 2 updates today. Next week is much the same so next Wednesday there'll be a trio of games.

                          Game 014 - D.N.A: Dark Native Apostle
                          Playstation 2 - Description:
"DNA has been developed by Hudsonsoft, the team that brought the world Bomberman and Bloody Roar 3 on PS2. This action adventure features a storyline where you have to not only solve puzzles and fight hordes of enemies, but piece your memory together at the same time. The game has a unique look based on American comic style illustration and the cel-shaded graphics bring this style to life. An experiment has gone terribly wrong at a research laboratory and our hero recovers from apparently certain death. Now fully conscious, he realises that he is able to fire certain weapons from his right hand. He also realises that he has completely lost his memory. Thus he embarks on a journey to find out who he is..."

Next is a series that did quote well for itself. I've tinkered with one of them back in the day and it was pretty enjoyable, still need to get onto the rest of them. There was also a pretty fun Ford Racing game on the PSP that had the team mate mechanic like NFS: Carbon. Pretty decent visuals for the platform too.

Well I picked up Ford Racing 3 in CEX for ?2 today and colour me impressed! It is a good fun arcade racer with plenty of cars, track and racing modes wrapped in a decent overall package.

                                +60fps
                                +60hz mode
                                +Widescreen support
                                +Pro Logic II
                                +Decent visuals overall
                                +Varied track design
                                +On and off road racing
                                +Low price point when new.

                                -Average sound
                                -No major water splashing
-Headlights do not light the road up
                                -Very easy to start with.

Overall it's fun and well worth a punt.

After a few more hours of playing this is actually a really good game. It is fast, smooth and lots of fun.
The racing line mode is really good. You have to stay on the racing line to accumulate boost and if you stray off it you don't charge but obviously you need to stray off to overtake. Also the boost system is excellent as it has good effect in every gear. Basically when you boost even at the redline it drops the rev counter back but around 2k and gives you extra speed in each gear. Makes for some superb down/upshifting moments on manual.
