    regretting purchasing an xbox

i bought an xbox bundle last week, with extra controller, halo, midtown madness 3, crash bandicoot , timesplitters 2 and wwe raw 2.

although the graphics are superb im not sure if iam fully enjoying it to how i should be. it was either a xbox or gamecube to buy. not sure if i made the right decision. i can still return it for a gamecube if i like as the 10 day return isnt up yet.

what is their on xbox to keep me interested?

      Halo is superb natch,

I really liked Gun Valkyrie, but it is not for the faint hearted.

Panzer Dragoon Orta is also top notch, a very religious experience if you are a fan of the series

Do you have access to broadband? If so, get yourself on Live, you'll find it opens a whole new universe to the Xbox world.

Halo 2. What else can I say really.

Project Gotham Racing 2, Fable, Counterstike, Ninja Gaiden, plenty more of titles in 2004 and beyond.

With regards to the GC, you've got stunning titles such as Sunshine, Prime, Ikaruga, Luigis Mansion, Pikmin, Mario Kart: DD, Billy Hatcher, the monkey balls, Animal Crossing, Soul Calibur (best version of the multis imo) F-Zero GX, Zelda:TWW and plenty more heading your way.

It's your choice, whatever you do i'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Chip it. Chip it now. An unchipped Xbox is worth ****; chipped ones will bring love and joy and sex.

well ive always been a nintendo fan and grown up with them etc. so i like platform games like mario etc also zelda etc. i use to own a gamecube but was forced to sell it due to unemployment at the time. so always been after one since.

got an xbox because it had the best package deal really. the ps2 costs ?130 for the hardware standalone.

i also had a ps2 which was ace for grand theft auto (which is now on xbox anyway) and its footy games - pes2 for instance.

pondering whether to return the xbox for a cube and then buy a ps2 at a later date. or keep the xbox and buy a cube at the later date.

Some older games on the Xbox that would be worth checking out would be Blinx, Munch's Oddyssey and Toe Jam and Earl III. They might appeal. I suppose Munch is the closest of the three to a platformer. I am sure there must be some others out there.

If it is platformers you are after you can't go far wrong with Ratchet and Clank (and the upcoming sequel) or Jak and Dexter and Jak II.

Yeh really if you like platformers as you sound like you do, then maybe better off switching this for a Cube and getting a PS2 later.

But then the XBox has some decent platformers, just never rated that highly - Check out the reviews on here. Kameo could be pretty special but god knows when that'll turn up.

Midtown 3 on Live is great fun, less so offline admittedly.

I'm not sure I hold with all this 'unchipped XBoxes are rubbish' lark. I'm in no hurry at all to chip mine, as everything a chipped XBox can do (other than play pirate games, which I obviously couldn't care less about) so can my combination of an XBox and a PC.

What sort of games do you like? Thats the thing that really sorts out if you should switch. Personally, I'm really glad I've got all my options open, but it did cost a fair bit on hardware.

OK, having read your other post, then maybe you should indeed go for a Gamecube, if the XBox isn't floating your boat straight off.

I'd actually take it back for a credit note for now, and then pick up the Mario Kart/Zelda history pack that comes out in a week or two, rather than buy one of the current bundles, however.

The XBox is a fine system, but right now it sounds like you'd rather play Gamecube games, and you can always go multiplatform later.
