Same as with Insect Armageddon, then. The US got the weapon pack DLCs as pre-order bonuses and we didn't. Well, we got the PS2 games and they didn't, so... This'll have enough weapons and missions as it is, it's no big loss.

I want this game. Badly. I even moved the wireless router around so my console picks up the signal better.

Does anyone know if the PAL 360 will be region free (or at least work on a US machine)?

I will try and let you know once my PAL copy shows up, Zaki.

On EDF 2025's official site, there's a video that you can share on Facebook to receive a code for the 'Special Ops Mission Pack' DLC. As is usually the case, it's for USA and Canada only, but perhaps it can be redeemed on an european account. Well, I'd give it a shot if I had a Facebook account. The codes will be emailed later, though.

I preordered this for the 360 at Gamestop for E19.99 on the weekend. Paid in full too, but now it's up to E44 on their webpage. Reckon they'll honour it come Friday?

It was that price for quite some time, so they should honour it.

Even by Eurogamer's piss poor review standards, that's a joke. With a nasty anti-Japanese undercurrent to it to boot.

What a load of pseudo-pretentious Sixth-Form-level, 'look at my writing style, isn't it irreverent?' ****e. The writer is a C U Next Tuesday with a palpable downer on the game from the get-go. I could quite happily deconstruct that abysmal shambles of a 'review' on every level, but I really can't be arsed.

I haven't played it yet, so maybe it's not fair for me to comment, but it's starting to feel like the fun is disappearing from games so fast that when something daft and silly comes out everyone is too cool to let themselves enjoy it.

That's probably a fairer review in terms of actual content - it doesn't try to sound like ****ty hip journalism in a free local music mag you pick up in a local wine bar, for example. However, it doesn't really say anything. It makes a few arguable accusations about weapon drops and cut and paste game design, but then falls into the folly of insinuating that it's got no strategy in aiming and cover. Which is total bollocks, on the later levels and higher difficulties. Where are the positives that achieved the 5 rating? Nowhere, it seems.

Furthermore, both reviews slag off the extra classes. They clearly haven't put the effort in with them - they've defaulted on the soldier guy, then tried the others. Because they require totally different approaches, they've been rejected as imbalanced, when in reality they need thought and groundwork. The Eurogamer tosser hasn't, it's apparent, played more than half the levels. Or any other difficulty. Or with any other class. Piss poor lazy games journalism.

It's listed on Xbox.com for ?44.99. I wonder if it can be downloaded and played already...

Those two reviewers are clearly hipster buffoons and they can go fellate Anna Anthropy, for all I care for their opinions. In preparation for EDF this Friday I have earmarked my new telly for a B-Movie film extravaganza to get me into the mood: Pacific Rimjob last night, Starship Troopers tonight, Godzilla Final Wars after that. Then, game on!
