Well if you already have those, start there, I guess.
2017 for Vita is good because you've got the core 2017 game, which is awesome, plus the addition of 4-player co-op and the Wing Diver, that the original 360 game didn't have.
Personally, I think EDF 2025 is a game changer. I was addicted to it for 11 months. Couldn't stop playing it, sneaking games in at any opportunity, staying up late at night and daydreaming about tactics in the day.
The 4-player online co-op is amazing if you get in a like-minded bunch and working the four classes together is really rewarding.
I popped on about a month ago and it's still fairly busy online.
There are shortcuts to powering up, but the game is beautifully balanced to give you enough health and weapons to edge further in each campaign.
I'm pretty sure I might have mentioned before that I like the game...
You can get it for ?6.99 on 360 at Gameseek at the minute.
I know you have a PS4, so you could consider importing. The 4.1 upgrade is 2025 with some new weapons and vehicles including the giant mech in the video above. Online, I imagine a lot of Japanese people will be on it as it (EDF 4) was pretty popular there, topping the charts when it came out.Comment

I really, really like 2017 (one of the main reasons I imported a J360) but 2025 is a real stormer of a sequel and would just go for that. It has everything that made 2017 great and adds so much. Looks great and plays great with loads to see and do. One word of warning though, character progress is not shared between online and offline so if you want to play by yourself I'd start an online game but make it private so that if you decide you want to play online you can open your lobby up and still have your progress.Comment

Nice. I love EDF4 on the 360. It's the only game since Phantasy Star Online for the DC where I've put over 100 hours gameplay in to it. Currently around 185 hours. my son likes to play as the ranger or that other one that calls tanks and mechs. As you can tell I don't use that character at all.

Hehe... yep I'm the same as you. Air Raider and Fencer I don't bother with now, they are more suited to multiplayer as some of their weapons can only be used together, Air Raider does the targeting for some of Fencer's missiles.
I enjoy playing Wing Diver and Ranger the same.
