There's never been a release date outside of Japan and we don't know if it's region free because it's not out yet.

I'll be importing the 360 version. EDF 3 was one of the main reasons I bought a J360 (about a month before it was announced it would be localised).

Co-op settings sound interesting.

One player acts as the host and creates a room with a lobby. Other players can join in, but there's restrictions on what level of armour and weapons that can be brought in, so you can't go into every level with a Genocide Gun. However, restrictions can be lifted through player progression.

Makes sense!

You can revive downed team mates, but only if you have enough health yourself.

You can communicate through mics, text chat, predefined common messages and gestures (like Lost Planet 2).

As for release dates, based on Play-Asia, the US version is out in December (Amazon.com says 31st) but it could just be a placeholder.

The Japanese PS3 version is listed as region-free, but will set you back ?45.

I'd say its just the 360 wing, there all fanatical nutters The PS3 has more bromance i think and understands that to get the best out a soldier they need support.

You may need to re-assess your hypothesis You will die, quite possibly because some of these PS3 folk are trigger happy, relentless killing machines QC, Loftgroover, to name a few!
