I visited a Game store the other day, the first time in at least a year since switching to Shopto. One thing that that i find completely baffling is despite everything with the original company going bust etc even though under new ownership the prices are still crazy high. I know they have overheads and rent etc but im not talking a few ??, games are still at least ?10 more. I was going to buy Guild Wars 2 but it was ?40 in store where amazon had it for ?31 inc postage. I mean is the new management just as stupid as the last? I would have thought lessons will have been learned but seems not.

4 of 5 stores in Sheffield, meaning they didn't have a store in the town centre. You had to drive 6 miles to Meadowhall, or go to HMV

Gamestation is ****. However, GAME are even worse - this news seems like a bad omen to me.
I went instore a few weeks ago, thinking it may have been different after it's recent troubles- and to my shock it's exactly the same.
Sky high prices, rock bottom trade in values, preowned stock outweighing new by 3-1. Doesn't seem like any lessons have been learned. Shame really, because now there's hardly any retail presence for gaming.

I really like GameStation, loads of variety and plenty of good prices. Picked up a fair few titles I'd never heard of and only saw thanks to these shops like Millennium Championshop Paintball, Morph X and Secret Service. Fortunately our town kept both the Game and Gamestation so best of both worlds.

It's sold plenty fine in store at ?40.
Not everybody is prepared to buy online. I have people tell me all the time about how they don't like buying online.
