I think you would have gotten better results for discussion if you would have tried to start one yourself, instead of basically telling everyone "you are boring, be more interesting".

If you're not willing to do that then in my opinion it's better to ignore the subject than suffer from the boredom it makes you feel.

Not boredom; frustration. And when frustrated it often helps - if only for a brief moment - to get it off your chest. But again: I realise the futility of my original post and apologise yet again for bringing nothing other than complaints to a functional thread.

What's to discuss with Halo anyway?

I chose my order because for me Halo 1 sp was fun but quite lazy. The first 4 levels are great but after that the library and regurge of the earlier levels reeked of rushing for deadline; all the more felt in anniversary. Halo 2 felt like a failed attempt to cram in some of the scale fans wanted and typical things lime boss fights etc but Bungie got it wrong. Halo 3 was like a mad scramble back and much like a retread of Halo 1 but without the sloppy back end hence it being my current fave. ODST was plain horrid. I liked Reach, it felt like Bungie was finally making headway in the design but it lacked the scale of rhe numbered entries and the muted colouring and more sombre mood held it back a little.

I'm sure the brilliant score in Halo CE did a lot to add to the atmosphere and my enjoyment. There are so many standout tracks and they still sound great years later. The music took a serious nose dive from Halo 2 onwards. Near the begining of Halo 2, maybe level 2 where you fight a hunter this bull**** macho music kicks and I just knew it was the begining of the end for the series. More significant than that though is that the later games can be played as simple wars of attrition with no real need to outsmart or outplay the enemies. Elites are just so much better oponents than grunts.

              Halo 3
              Halo Reach
              Halo: ODST
              Halo: CE

Haven't played Halo 2 yet or beaten Halo 4 Campaign.

Admittingly I didn't play Halo: CE until Anniversary but while I found a few of the first levels fun a lot of the levels just felt like a corridor shooter. There were a lot of recycled areas/levels and I just didn't find it living up to the hype and admiration I've seen it receive.

At this rate Halo 4 might take it
