Make a ps4 version and I'll get the console just to play it.

eastyy there was an article last week saying "sales" so far were at around 75,000 - though that did include the kickstarter backers too. Think it was on Eurogamer. Was a decent read on how as well as the kickstarter they had sunk ?8M of their own cash in too.

Must have been on Eurogamer as a console version was asked about too.

Frontier Games has announced that the second beta version of Elite: Dangerous will be out on September 30, bringing with it a host of new additions and enhancements. And if you're unclear as to why that's good news, you might want to have a look at the new "Interstellar Bounty Hunter" combat video that's been making the rounds on YouTube.

On 30th September the developers will be releasing Beta 2

Elite: Dangerous' second beta is due on 30th September, developer Frontier Developments has announced.

More info and the mention of free original Elite game.
Seen a few posts on forums that this new game is amazing with everything cranked to the max on the 980 video cards that come out this week.

I was in on day one so I could register a cool name. Not forked out for the beta though so I'll be waiting til release.

The third beta phase for Elite Dangerous is live now, and introduces two new ships, a larger area of the galaxy to mess…

Beta 3 is live which adds 2000 star systems visual effects and more

Drops offline mode, people get annoyed.

I might still take a look down the road but I'm not sure I want to buy in to a game that doesn't have to be online only when there is so much other choice about. Offline wasn't just a small option in the menus somewhere.

Isn't that what was always planned? FAQ from 2012 says: the game code will not include DRM (Digital Rights Management), but there will be server authentication when you connect for multiplayer and/or updates and to synchronise with the server.

From the Kickstarter FAQ on "How will single player work? Will I need to connect to a server to play?":

The above is the intended single player experience. However it will be possible to have a single player game without connecting to the galaxy server. You won't get the features of the evolving galaxy (although we will investigate minimising those differences) and you probably won't be able to sync between server and non-server (again we'll investigate).

Whole thing has left a sour taste tbh. Beta people getting cheap insurance for life etc. Smells like ea and ubi

Stinks really, many people (like me) would have spent 75%+ of the time in offline mode I'm sure.
