    Call of Duty: Ghosts

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 isn't even a week old, but that hasn't stopped word of the next game in the all-conquering fi…

There's been murmurs for a while but it seems more and more likely that next years COD release will be a Modern Warfare sequel

That title is awkwardly similar to the first Modern Warfare: "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare"

This seriously must be a launch title for next gen consoles with a new graphics engine. They surely cant any more out of the current engine they have.

Seriously gambit6613, it Activision and the old IW and its just not on for a new engine. I read on another forum about Blops 2 and how David Vondehaar tried to defend the ageing engine. But one poster put it succinctly, you have a buick car, but you buy a ferrari engine and put it in the buick. Yes its faster and can do a few new tricks, but its still a buick.

With a potential next-gen ver of Battlefield 4 to contend with they need to have a new engine version of this ready. As with BF4 though I'm not expecting any game design changes though as current gen will still be focus, likely upscaling only...

              Dear diary.
My dream of a world where people know and use the term 'upscaled' properly seems farther away then ever. My spirits keep declining. Luckily it's taco for dinner today.

Very well put, when you say it like this then it makes much more sense Anyway who needs a new engine when people just buy the same old game every year no matter what. I seriously dont know where COD/BF4 can go, perhaps start expanding the game into the Solar System perhaps

They could combine it with Madden or FIFA or the like. Zombie football deathmatch or something. It'll be great. Then they can just change the names every year and keep releasing it until the heat death of the universe. Everyone's a winner.

How about a radical idea? They put the game to bed for a few years, build a new engine and wow us all, like COD 4 did. Ive more chance shagging natalie portman on that front.

Of course they won't. It sells bucketloads every year, they will bleed it til it's dry like Tony Hawks and Guitar Hero

To be honest im surprised the COD games have not already gone the way of Tony Hawks and Guitar Hero. The scary thing is the brand is not exactly on the decline is it, i mean it sells **** loads every year.

It's built around the Quake 3 engine - at least it was when I played the first Modern Warefare. I think that might be why the latest ones still have **** scripted deaths, terrible, terrible physics and so on.
