I've registered mine now and also registered Smash bros. The system isn't showing up in my account yet and it shows as linked on the 3DS so will update later!

Do normal 3DS cases fit the new3DS? Don't want to have to import one if I can help it. Thanks!

Just tried it, i have a soft hori pouch that i have my original 3DS in and it just about fit but it was pretty tight that if you dropped it with that inside it would offer no protection as it's too tight. I doubt you would fit it in a hard case due to the dimensions unless the case had a bit of wiggle room for the original 3DS

Cheers mate. Guess I need either the Hori travel pouch or an imported one then. Don't really take handhelds out too often so doubt I will drop it. Barely any need for a case except to protect against dust etc!

That one looks like it has more room.

The one i tried it in is this, it's doable but a tight fit because it was designed for the original.


The one i use in my n3ds in though is the hard hori foam shell case that i got that was designed to fit the new model.

Whats the hype with the Ambassador edition? Just the faceplate and the charging stand? Is that it?

I've seen other plates that are catchier plus it isn't even in a funky colour and I'm sure you can buy that charger anyway.
