Not to mention SF4 on 3DS is ridiculously obsolete.

Out of interest, can I transfer my Ambassador stuff onto my new 3ds with no problems?

You can do a transfer every 7 days it says

I've done it from a normal 3DS to a XL and had no problems

Is there any easier way to transfer data? I tried using the transfer method via Wifi, but it is crazy slow and seems to keep failing after about 30-40 mins.

Does anyone know if there are plans to bring GBA to the 3DS? (apart from the lucky ones who ordered the first batch of 3DS consoles.)

I feel like I've been waiting ages for some gameboy advance games on 3ds!

I am not sure. I think it is crazy that there are not any on there. They are perfect for the 3DS. Why only the WiiU?

Only Nintendo can answer for sure (obviously), but the long/short of it appears to be that they can't be bothered to make the effort.

So they have a fully working emulator, but it locks out all the normal 3DS functions. Perhaps because of the hardware. The n3DS is more powerful, so this could be a good way to reward buyers I think.

Even a 5 year old phone can run GBA games with save states, and I don't really understand the strategy here with the big N. I'd buy advance wars again.

I don't really buy that article. They seem to be moulding speculation to fit a theory while completely ignoring that other Ambassador games from other systems (such as NES games) also had no save states etc. We should have GBA games on the 3DS VC. And SNES games too. Where are they?

Difference being that the NES 3DS Ambassador games got updated to become fully fledged VC games with save states etc.

I don't necessarily buy that article either and I'm a 3DS Ambassador who would happily pay for GBA downloads on my 3DS but Nintendo would've done it by now if they were going to, surely?

I refuse to buy GBA games on my Wii U out of principle.

Exactly. This is my point. That article seems to suggest that because this is the situation that was presented with GBA Ambassador games, it's all the 3DS is capable of. But the NES games had no save states and as you say they got updated. The fact that they launched with none didn't mean the 3DS couldn't do them. It's as you say - seems like they just couldn't be bothered to make the effort.

I don't understand the Virtual Console at all. Nintendo drip out about 2 games a week when they have these giant libraries spread across multiple systems. The lack of integration between the Wii VC and the Wii U VC is just totally bizarre (having to go into 'Wii mode' to play VC games from that system, instead of having a new version issued to you to play directly via the Wii U OS). Plus you've got the fact that the Wii VC had far more systems than the Wii U version, even though the Wii U has now been on the market for over 2 years.

It's really annoying. I don't understand why they don't make far more games available than they do, they're just ROMs after all. They already have all the emulators.

It's simple though; they want to limit access so they don't affect sales of their newer games. They also don't want to provide users a "permanent" way to own their games on newer and newer platforms, because they want to sell them repeatedly for each hardware generation.
