I know I'm on my own here but I don't like 2d mario games. Mario 64, sunshine, galaxy: All awesome. Everything prior to that: not so much :-)

Not at all. I am trying pretty hard to like New Super Mario Bros U but it is just missing something. The only 2D Mario I have ever enjoyed is the first and third on the NES and Super Mario World on the SNES and this is most likely because I had not played 3D Mario yet.

SM3DL is not a 2D Mario game, it is a 3D Mario game, although it uses 2D elements for some levels. It's also a direct sequel to Super Mario Land and SML2: 6 Golden Coins.

Doesn't get much better imo I highly highly recommend you play it.

I thought DoA Dimensions was pretty naff, DoA5+ walks all over it. Of course that's reserved for PSV, Official Home Of The Rerelease?.

Cannot understand why you don't own SM3DL Speedy. It's one of the best games I've played in years and I've seen you post love for the earlier Land games many times. It's seriously satisfying to see a direct and entirely worthy sequel to a game you obsessively played as a kid.

I find 3D Mario games dull as hell, 2D ones are better.
As for Dead or Alive on 3DS, fantastic game with absolutely no single player content at all. What a load of ****e. Just like Tekken.

Kid Icarus is amazing and never gets enough love.

Star Fox 64 3D is ****ing badass. I literally cannot put it down. Best ?11.20 I've spent since the last badass game I bought.

3DS is badass itself. I've started neglecting the Wii U because of it. I even got shouted at by the Mrs. for lighting up the bedroom at 3am, which woke her up. LOL

Er...isn't Wario Land the direct sequel to SML & SML2? (It was sub-titled SML3)

Yep, you are correct.

Also, I found next to nothing to connect the GB Mario Lands and Mario 3D Land other than the use of the word 'land'. 3D Land is awesome though. It's close to Galaxy on my list of 3D Marios and mostly because it has that Mario Bros 3 thing of short rewarding levels. It's a lovely game.
