Funnily enough my local HMV has about 5 3DS games in stock!

Shops don't seem to sell games anymore. Apart from 400 copies of Rage on Xbox 360. I just D/L everything instead now.
      Kept you waiting, huh?

Yeah, I went to Kingston yesterday.

The high street Game closed down last year. The one in the Bentalls Center was closed for "health and safety" reasons - doubt it will come back. CeX was slim pickings for PS3 and 3DS games (tons of 360 stuff I wouldn't have minded, but no console) and X Electrical is long gone. Was a Game inside Bentalls for a short while too. PC World seemed to stock PS3/360/Wii/Wii U but no actual games for them which is nuts. They even had boxes for the Wii Mini, but they weren't priced up. HMV has about 5 metres of games - was horrid.

My local town of Walton-on-Thames has recently had HMV and Blockbuster close. All the Vita and 3DS stuff was removed from the local Sainsburys in favor of Skylanders stuff.

I think Woking (CeX / Game) and Staines (Gamestation, CeX, Game) will be my best bets in future.

The only problem with D/Ling everything, is that I can't see anybody buying my 3DS XL for ?1200 when I sell it.

Pray it never breaks as then your stuffed. You can only content transfer to another 3DS if your previous one is working, not the smartest idea filling it with software you cant sell on.

Has a Nintendo product ever broken on you?

Yup yes it has, my wii went tits up losing about ?60 worth of wiiware/VC stuff. Taught me never to bother paying for digital Nintendo stuff again.

                  Oh damn, that's a shame.

I thought that they've changed it now so your content is locked to an account? I know it used to be an issue on the DSi though. Maybe I'm making this up.

That kind of thing doesn't happen to me. Trading Standards would have a field day. I'd have it all replaced faster than they could say Anne Robinson.

Nowdays it's improved but back in wii days if your console died then you were basically stuffed you could buy a new one & send both the old & new console to Nintendo & get them to do a system transfer and it was totally at their whim.

How does it work now? Like Joe for mobile I am becoming more and more interested in having everything as DL. If my 3DS did break could I just re-download it to a new unit?

(A little off topic how does it work for Wii U too?)

Everything would be stored on the SDHC card, and Nintendo would have a record of what you'd purchased. They'd be at liberty to repair your 3DS under warranty or transfer your license to a new system should you want to do that.

I believe it's moving, although I was unaware it was happening this early. Guess we'll see in due course. Is rather sorry that a reasonably sized town such as Kingston has no proper videogame retail.

Yeah it said it was moving but we'll see where to if at all. Seemed a bit sudden is all.
