Not great. What does the inside look like, I wonder? I have the GBA SP based on the same design and that works well. Although nothing beats the Famicom Micro.

The slapped pad on top of the lid dosent work as well as it would have done if they had just taken the grill and black and grey off the original nes, the NES gba sp is a lovely piece of kit its just a shame the screen lets it down these days.

It's all silver all the slide pad is grey & the XYBA buttons are red like the nes pad buttons but with black lettering, to be honest it looks wank & not a patch on the GBASP edition which had the cool textured plastic on the inside. This one seems cobbled together as a stopgap to keep people distracted till the newds comes out.

Some decent games on that list, a last push before the new model lands is probably right as people have said in the comments.

Really isn't worth registering a new Nintendo console/handheld nowadays unless one of these promotions are on.

I'm likely to get the New 3DS once it hits the UK so I might as well sell my current XL while it still holds its value but what about the few games I got from the eshop?

I've seen its been a nightmare in the past for some with games tied to the console but are games now tied to your account? do nintendo allow you to download the games again on new hardware? Is it as simple as logging in and finding a download history?

Don't think so. I assume you have to do a "System transfer" if you want to move your content from your old 3DS to a "New 3DS". So, if you sell your system now, you'll start on a clean slate.

Unless the situation changes soon, this is correct.

It's annoying as I have Mario 3D Land, Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies, Tetris and a few other games on my system, so I'll have to keep it until the "new" one comes out, doubtless losing out on potentially ?30 or so in the process.

On a different note, did I read before that the screens on the smaller "new" unit are larger than the old 3DS? I may go for the smaller one this time around, especially if the battery life is better.

Yes, they are slightly larger, and the battery apparently lasts up to 1 hour longer. The XL still has the same size screens and has better battery life again, so I'll probably just upgrade that.

...Still not cancelled my New3DS yet...

I think I'll just sell it on anyway, I'd only be losing Luigi's Mansion and Monster Hunter, neither of which I play or paid for. Plus I think I'd rather import an NA system to start with.

I don't really care about my 3DS XL, but I do care about my Pok?mon Y save. An upgrade could probably be easily justified.
