Yeah...I'm getting more tempted by the regular size one. I already have a 16GB micro SD I can use, and I can transfer the games I have on my release 3DS.

If anyone wants a black Japanese 3DS, I may have one to sell.

I'm convinced this is a fairly hastily cobbled stopgap to offset poor WiiU performance, whereas if that system had performed even half-decently Nintendo would've held off for a more radically upgraded - and possibly properly named - new handheld system (probably dropping the 3D entirely, which they've been hinting at, but are now using it as a system-seller again [look, it's got a wider wider angle!!]). Anyhow, I'm going to stay very content with my now obsolete current-gen 3DSXL, looking forward to Super Smash Bros., Shin Megami Tensei IV, Persona Q, Monster Hunter 4, Youkai Watch and Project STEAM. Woudn't be at all surprised it that last one suddenly went next-gen-only, though.

Love the idea of the customizable user-interface as the default is horribly bland, so the October download for that will be cool.

The improved 3D display is actually probably the biggest thing for me, when playing normally the 3D is near useless as the viewing angle is so narrow that you have to be like a robot to not move it while playing.

The original one wasn't too bad but the one on the LL is not that good because of the size the lenticular banding is more noticable even when you are dead on the sweet spot.

I'd be willing to pay through the bum for a new dashboard because the default just depresses me. It's almost like someone said, "What can we do to make this device seem utterly joyless and the absolute antithesis of fun whenever someone switches it on?".

Nah, the next one will be the Zeta 3DS, then the Double Zeta 3DS.

Then they'll go back in time and make the GP-03DS, which looks like better hardware than the Zeta 3DS, and come up with some kind of story about how everyone just forgot about it.

Very good/excellent, considering I've had it 3 years. I'd be looking for ~$100 o.n.o. plus postage, but only after getting a ν3DS, and I'll only get one if I can get it at RRP.

As the news breaks everywhere online, the tears of anguish are hillarious. People are seriously going into a hissy strop meltdown over this news, seems to be mostly Americans whining at the moment so far.

I'd love for Nintendo to say it's going to be Japan only just to see how they would cope with the news

The only annoying thing about this, which I've never had to deal with before, is I have digital purchases on my 3DSXL that I don't want to lose.

I want to sell my machine now, ready to get the new one when it's out, but I can't, as I need both at the same time to do the transfer.

As for complaining over a new machine, I'm actually happy they're finally putting a second stick on the thing. Plus I may go for the smaller unit this time, if the screens really are a tad bit bigger.

Loving how people assume that xenoblade will be released in all regions just because it eventually happend on wii, doesn't mean the same will follow with this, they are jumping the gun a lot.

Hell they even haven't given a release date for the hardware outside Japan yet. Im still trying to think of a new name for the new revision im leaning towards newds 3D

Well be fair, Importaku, you can see why: splitting the userbase with software to try to force people to upgrade to basically the same old - and overpriced - hardware. I'm not going to cry "tears of anguish" over it, but I choose not to fall for it. I'll wait for the real deal. If I didn't already have a 3DS, though, I'd be pre-ordering this in a heartbeat. So much back-catalogue goodness, and how much more if not region-locked?!?!

Nintendo have been doing this since the gameboy colour, it's not something that has sprung up overnight. So far the grand total of 1 game has been announced, 1 game that hasn't even been confirmed for the west at all.

When idolmaster came out it was dsi only exactly same situation as now, if you wanted to play it you would have to buy a new DSi. Don't remember people bitching online & going into super strops in that case.
