Borderlands2 finally got another stability update and a controls update so you can now reduce the area of the rear touch screen that's activated, a god send for hose that hug the console. Game seems slightly more stable frame rate wise and the texture pop in is slightly reduced.

Apart from the last boss destroying me its been good fun, looks great too...guy sitting next to me on the plane looked up from his documents and asked me where he could buy a vita!
That's good to hear, been tempted by it. How long is the game?

        2) Is the PSVita's emulation as good as the 3DS running DS games, or the DS Lite running GBA games?*

*(I'm asking if the emulation is flawless. As a basis for comparison, I didn't consider the 360 backwards compatible with the Xbox, because most of my games didn't work and many of those that did looked crap, some having weird bits of slowdown)
The device is backwards-compatible with most PlayStation Portable games; however, its lack of a UMD drive limits this capability to those titles which have been digitally released on the PlayStation Network via the PlayStation Store, ps1 games dont work either though sony recently added a ton of ps1 games to the vita store by mistake and loads of peole downloaded them and they worked fine, so im thinking they must be coming soon.

Wonder if there is any truth to the above story? I can't see Sony announcing a new unit but a big price cut would be helpful and a perhaps it wouldn't hurt them to vastly reduce the price of memory cards.

I think if you mod the machine you can load any PS1 rom on to it, not just the ones they have authorised for sale.

I would describe the emulation of PSP and PS1 games on PS Vita as flawless yes, Based on my experience, which isn't huge to be fair. FFVII and FFVIII, Gran Turismo PSP, Super Stardust PSP, Lego Batman PSP, Resident Evil PS1, Silent Hill PS1, Vagrant Story, Warhammer 40k PSP, Sega Mega Drive Collection, Peace Walker. Ok, so quite a few I suppose. All ran great.

Games that use buttons as a stand in for a second stick (like Peace Walker) are significantly improved too, as you can map those buttons to the Vita's right hand side stick.

Hold up, do what now? Without specifics, is this doable now?

Currently no. You need an exploitable game, all of which have either been taken down or patched by Sony. Occasionally a new exploit is found and you have a limited time to buy the game and install it before Sony get wind and remove/patch it.

The offical emulation of PSP (With upscaling) and PSone is fantastic. PSP games that need a nub are sooooo much better on Vita, and the screen really helps. I've purchased loads of them, and would buy lots more if Sony let me!

Had more time with Ratchet HD. It's 30fps and solid, and as a gamer new to the PS2 games, WOW! Really great fun and addictive. With PS+ cross buy it was about ?15 for all three. Well worth it.

I also tried the borderlands control change, using a smaller section of the back touch. GODSEND!

Its taken about 11 hours to reach "The Final Chapter" with quite a few side quests done tho...not beaten that level yet so not sure what happens after re NG+ or further levels/quests.

That's wishful thinking. I'm willing to bet that a shortage of Vita units is just that; less Vita units are on sale. The only possibility I can see are those rumours of a Vita/PS4 double-pack, with Sony diverting some supply to that.

Your answer conflicts a little with...

As you mention specific PS1 games, Brad, I assume you're right?

Hmm mmmmm. Let me double check. My memory is not what it once was. The psp games I have on there right now so that is correct. Will check psp titles tonight

All of the PS1 and PSP games I've tried have functioned perfectly - there's just a limited selection of them.
