I've been amazed to see how many products Amazon have been raising in price recently. I admit that I used them for at least half of my entertainment purchases, but its actually been cheaper to buy some new release blu rays in HMV. What happened to ?14, ?15 for a bluray preorder on Amazon? A lot of spring/summer releases were at ?18 a couple of weeks ago. The Hobbit is ?2.50 cheaper in HMV compared to buying from Amazon. I'm relieved the Manchester branch is remaining open, I will definitely start to look in there before I purchase online in future.

I've noticed it as Amazon used to be at least as cheap as buying something from work with our staff discount, so if a manager or supervisor annoyed me with pedantry or something I'd just dump my staff stash and buy it online instead out of spite. What's been quite amusing over the last few months is watching people pick something up at work, read the blurb on the back and then immediately checking their smartphones for the online price, then seeming almost disappointed that we were the cheaper option. Probably a side-effect of the tax loophole closing as much as Amazon's greed but if so, that just goes to show what an unfair advantage that gave to those companies.

Anyway, hopefully people will shut up and stop asking us when we're closing now. They all seem so bloody gleeful when they ask.

Was in Leeds Whiterose branch a few weeks ago and saw signs all over behind the counter, "We do not know when we are closing, stop asking" or something along those lines, customers don't realise how annoying they are collectively!
