Feel free to tell the whole story.
It was in a shoe box and had a Bath postal mark on it
Suddenly, random information gained from caco over weeks of posting all come together, and slowly start to make sense.

Then again, I might simply be making links between things that have no links.

Still, wow.... What a surprise that must have been in the morning.
How far along had decomposition gone?

Hold on, isnt bath the city where a large number of journalistic publications are made?

I was recently reminded of the eliteness of the Poo Land tune from CBFD....on a par with the Uncle ****er fart solo from the South Park movie, for sure

Somebody get Dave Wise/Grant Kirkhope in here! I do like the Wil, N64 is my favourite magazine of all time and it had some lovely pics in it - the one standing out in my mind atm is the Skill Club one with Worldly Bloke riding a dragon

But those guys, they are Gods. Donkey Kong Country 2 is in my top 5 games, and the music in it was all part of the experience. To this day I still play the theme from one of the world 2 levels - i think the second or third level - the one where its all foggy and there's kremlins in coats that throw hooks at you - on the piano.

GoldenEye, as has been mentioned, had a better score than the films and when the game first came out the sonics really sucked you in. Killer Instinct had some seriously funky tracks, unfortunately I don't have the CD

And PD, it heartens me when DavidFallows talks about his love for this game because it was a very good game. My multiplayer time of 5 days 12 hours may be lightweight compared to his but I appreciated it, the musical highlight being the new intro screen you get after beating the game. Man, that theme was emotive. Really caught the feeling of the game, all cool and futuristicky.. coherant English goes out the window when I try to describe these things..

And Diddy Kong Racing! Oh joy of joys, it is mentioned many times how brilliantly festive the christmas level's music is, I had my own words to that that I randomly made up and everything. An extract being

                  "I'm a 'gar, I'm a budgerigar, I'm a gar, I'm a budgerigar.."

No sense at all but it fit with the melody, I felt.

Conker had some top music, including the unforgettable poo opera. However, I'm stuck on that game at the part where you have commandeered the tank gun-turret thing and have to shoot all the Tediz. Like all the great Rare games, tough but rewarding.

Anyway... other people get enthusiastic about Rare's history. I've said enough!

I saw Phil Jupitus in HMV last week!
Yeah, that was cool, especially when one of my mates went up to him and was like "alright Phil"...apparently Mr Jupitus just said "alright", decent bloke that Phil Jupitus.

Meanwhile...I wonder what Wil Overton himself has to say about this:

Well, you must know that I can't say anything about Rare or the projects in progress.

All companies will have their detractors - ready to moan no matter what. They were at Future and they'll be at Rare. They'll also be the ones with the biggest mouths.

                        Fat Babies makes me depressed.

                        Wil

Its depressing read even if you're not at rare.

Hope things are going better than the detractors make out, some of that stuff paints a bleak picture of the whole industry.

Very true, yet for all their inadequacies there often remains a grain of truth. The British games industry is in a particularly dire state as it is and whilst the likes of Fat Babies aren't all that constructive, they do indicate that things aren't working and, unless corrected, a dim future possibly awaits us.

Nice to see that you are posting here Mr. Overton, I always appreciated your work on Super Play and I hope you are enjoying your time at Rare.
