I think there are a whole lot of us here that loved that magazine, and your work was part of the reason why.
Nice to see you about here.

Wil
Best Rare composer IMO. Kirkhope's JMJ/Vangelis influenced PD soundtrack has to be my fave though, even DKCII and SFA don't come close.
Rare Ltd. = Best VG music outside of Japan (not that that's hard like)
...and yes, I am ass-kissing.

Will was (is) excellent.... Just as Super Play.
Love his Samus Aran artwork.... Or just about everything he did for that magazine.
Must admit though I?m a bit worried about poor ol' Joanna Dark..... (If that game is still coming)
Okay, we haven't seen any new artwork in ages but did Overtons style really suit our quiet, determined N64 agent...?
Anyway, hats off for Wil Overton!

If so, he's a dude
And if he's also responsible for the excellent CBFD music... then he's a DUDE!
Seriously, the CBFD music owns. I still have Heist and Pooland on CD somewhere.
I think CBFD belongs to Kirkhope (can't remember from the credits, only completed it once - depressing ending) - although the Rave scene does sound very 'Wisey'.
Dave Wise Discography:
Star Fox Adventures (2002)
Diddy Kong Racing (1997)
Blood & Magic (1996)
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! (1996)
Donkey Kong Land 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (1996)
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (1995)
Donkey Kong Land (1995)
Donkey Kong Country (1994)
Grant Kirkhope Discography:
Star Fox Adventures (2002)
Donkey Kong 64 (2000)
Perfect Dark (2000)
Banjo-Kazooie (1998)
Blast Corps (1997)
Goldeneye 007 (1997)
Donkey Kong Land 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (1996)

Some of those may be wrong. For instance, I'm sure ar' kid Dave worked on the Killer Instinct score. Also one of the best VG soundtracks ever. Not IMO, but pure FACT.
The music from Perfect Dark though, My choice for the soundtrack of 2000 - even beats 'real life' music such as 'Joe Satriani - Live at the Fillmore'.

Looking down that list, I reckon D. Wise is still the king... I didn't rate the PD music that high. Although hats off to the Kirkhope man for the brilliant Goldeneye tunes, which IMO are still better than any of the 'real' music from the Bond films.
The Goldeneye soundtrack however is also fantastic. My fave tune being the Surface theme - who doesn't have fond memories of messing around with the sniper rifle for the first time, with the fully 3D satellite dish in the distance along with the chilling music playing in the background? Playing that level made my hands cold even.
The Aztec theme is also a great tune, not listened to by many.
