Yes, because if you don't like something, it gives you the right to steal it instead. I don't like that here in Finland I can't buy beer after 9 PM, so that gives me the right to steal beer from the grocery store, right?

Torn between buying the alternative system and the activation cost for pre-owned. If the price was low enough like a token amount (?1.99-?3.99) I may consider it but it would have to be mine on multiple systems ie none of this new console so another cost crap.
TBH if they are both like that and a lot if hassle I would probably not bother and keep my Wii U as the main system while hoovering up great PS3/360/Wii/3DS/Vita titles

A big fault I think is that not all publishers see the Indy that sells pre owned for about 60% of the rrp. They see the Cex and Game charging like ?37.99 preowned on a ?40 new title and figure its only ?2 more its not gouging them, I think greedy retailers must also see some of the blame its not like I will get more than 80% of rrp when I trade in and that's a new release (Dead Space 3, ?40 to buy at Amazon, I am guessing the best trade in will be ?32 at Cex, ? At Game but I'm guessing it won't be more than ?32 publishers don't see that though they see what retail is selling them for imo. If there is an activation cost pre owned will be less, guess who will be shafted by a (Whatever the activation cost is) again as it sure as **** won't be retail.Last edited by ETC; 07-02-2013, 17:49.

If there was some way to pay for the games I'd pirate on some kind of honour system (where payment doesn't implicitly support anti-consumer practices), I'd use that instead.
I'd say that I'd migrate to PC if this happens but it's looking like Windows is heading down this dark, restrictive route too.

You get the idea.

What bothers me is not being able to buy and play used console games. If something has a low print run and I miss out, I like the thought of being able to buy it from somebody else later on.
I can't realistically see this being implemented anyway. The second hand market for games is too huge to ignore and the console that chooses not to defend itself against it is going to succeed at the cost of one that does.
