Looks like a spin off of AC3 is out as a new hero and time frame comes in to play along with a new setting. Coming likely this year to most formats, hopefully a next gen version too.

Rumours surface, AC goes Pirates of the Caribbean! Possibly called Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and stars the father of ACIII Haytham Kenway, named Edward Kenway who is a privateer in the Caribbean. Setting possibly includes Cuba, Jamaica and Florida.
Sounds a bit weird if it's going to be Desmond's ancestor again what with ACIII already ending his storyline.Last edited by Guts; 27-02-2013, 11:47. -
With it being set at sea and taking the direction it looks to be it feels like its a spin off from 3 rather than a true sequel, the IV just bring there to ensure more attentionComment

Hmmm, I told myself I was done with Assassins after finding 3 disappointing. But the naval sections where awesome, so if there's an increased amount of that, maybe even travelling from island to island a la Wind Waker then count me in. (Yes I liked the boat traveling in Wind Waker!)Comment

That assassin is Edward Kenway, father of Haytham Kenway and grandfather of Connor from Assassin's Creed 3. He's a privateer, assassin and occasional pirate. More information TBC

Lots of info about the game at the official release event. Game will feature a big open-world ocean filled with islands to explore and without load times. There will also be underwater exploration. This will be the first cross gen game I wait for I think, I enjoyed AC3 but the engine creaked at times. The PS4 version should be spot on.Comment
