Similar now in Tokyo with most of the big arcades becoming pool and darts "centers" with the odd Tekken or Virtua Fighter cab in the corner.

      Wow that really is sad

They had some good arcades in Taiwan when I was there a year ago. Tom's World is a chain with a lot of interesting machines, no pool/darts and definitely no fruities. I played a lot of Initial D 6 in there, and some Let's Go Jungle/Deadstorm Pirates with the gf.

When I started this thread I was hoping for people to check out the local coin-ops in their region.........I understand that the arcade of old is no more but there must be a collection of games worth playing in this day and age. Pls post the arcades/pinball games in your area so we get an idea of what is around. There MUST be decent games around (maybe few and far between perhaps)but it can't all be bad.

I thought there would be loads more arcade machines knocking around, especially when I've only been to two places recently and they had a few good games worth playing. Grid in particular is really good fun with the force feedback, noise and flashing lights...it's just something that can't be successfully replicated at home.

Noticed an F-Zero arcade cab on ebay with the location being Lancashire......need to find it to have a bash on it!
Just googled it and someone said there was one in lythm st annes. Might have to go there before they sell it

It's on ebay for ?12000 if I remember right so they won't be selling it anytime soon. I tried to link it but it didn't work.......looks to have a 4:3 crt which is weird because I thought they were all widescreen. It looks like the real deal though with a force feedback seat. Went to Lythm last year and didn't see it but was being blown away at the time so the arcades were packed with people sheltering from the wind!
