Take that games companies, I'm going to go and use the service of the people who invented single use PC games!
    Stick it to the man!

Only if you buy the wrong ones.

Of course, in the old days, you never used to get games like that. I used to love Dragon's Lair, for example.

        That's how I roll.

And as someone said in the other thread. You're paying rental prices there for rental games. Even new games cost sod all for pc anyway. Not going to be putting down ?40-?50 for a game with such requirements (rental/always on etc...) on console.

That's funny. On my computer Steam prices for new games are ?29.99 (Xcom, ACIII, Colonial Marines). That's pretty high for a "rental" to me. At least a physical copy I can resell if it sucks. Or should I wait a year for the next Steam sale?

Only 60 euros here (when the real rate is about €51), bargain.

                Rental Prices over on PC.

                  Fifa is ?59.99 on PSN.

                  Suck.
                  My.

Pff... go look at the new Tomb Raider and Crysis 3 prices on amazon. I buy physical copies of PC games mostly and they are definitely a good 10 to 15 pound cheaper in comparison to their console counterparts.

Also, I said 'next gen!' which is when all this 'no second hand copy' ' intrusive DRM' BS will supposedly start.

I paid I think ?3 for Killing Floor (quality game) do the consoles even have sales events like Steam for their online services? the only service I can see at the moment which looks like it could compete with Steam for value is PSN+.

Yep, PSN had a massive sale at Christmas where prices were slashed and Xbox Live had a sale a few weeks ago.

It started 8 years ago with my Single use disc version of Half Life 2.

All the PCs will start melting once the PS4 games start coming out.

Goodbye superior versions of underpowered console ports.

That's started already. I think Dead Space 3 is limited to 30fps on PC for example.

I didn't know that about Valve! God knows how they've got their reputation of being such a lovely cuddly company. Maybe because Newell keeps telling everyone that he reads all their whingeing emails. Anyway they deserve to get burned a bit with the Steam Box nonsense, in my view.

Yeah, everyone was outraged about it then, because loads of people were still on 56k and the game would take hours to verify each file and then update before you could play.

It's pretty much the same thing people say today about games needing internet connections, except then it was actually a problem.

Well naturally they should be cheaper when you can't resell them or in some cases, even lend them to a friend.

Tomb Raider is ?29.99 on Zavvi for Xbox, same price as Steam except you get an actual disc, which you can sell after finishing/use as a frisbee.
