Next xbox maybe always online would that affect many people here ?

i dont know how to create a poll so if someone could do it i would be greatfull

Got to say for me a always online would be a deal breaker as i have lived in 3 seperate places and never had the best internet connection

If true though i think its stupid as EVERYONE can play offline but not everyone can be online

Would it affect me...? No, not really.

Would I consider not buying it out of principle? Yes. Sick of DRM in all it's disguises.

Plus, if they carry through with their plan to block second hand games, then I won't get it. Simple as that.

Shame as I've loved the XBOX and the 360 & it will feel weird to return to Sony.

For whatever reason (I think IP conflicts or just too many devices in my household on wifi) my connection can be very unstable, sometimes excellent but other times dropping off for no known reason. As a result, I simply couldn't take a chance with always-online content.

Nah, I wouldn't buy it. If the whole gen does it I'll stay retro.

Anyone remember when Ubisoft tried to implement 'always on' with Assassins Creed II? it was a complete and utter disaster and that was with the PC community who value connections speeds more.

It's pretty much disgraceful to have 'always on' in any single player game and the way it's been done in the Sim City reboot.... I can't imagine how many potential customers EA have put off with their Origin/always on connection nonsense!

I had a proper rant about this issue elsewhere when Sim City came out so I'll just paste it here:

"One time activation I don't really have much of a problem with but always on? seriously? it's a single play game, the sort you don't play in short bursts but plow hours and hours into. What if you lose connection and it doesn't save to the cloud? - which is happening loads from what I've read. Bang out of order."

Even Steam isn't always on. You can download your game, switch to offline mode, and continue playing.

I probably should have mentioned this earlier but anyone who votes yes will be banned.

How will Microsoft be able to pause your game and show targeted adverts every thirty minutes unless it's always on?

Steam had a stupid system up until 18 months ago, it had an offline mode but you had to engage it whilst online and verify your game I. Advance of being offline.

If your bet connection died without warning you still couldn't play your games.

If its REQUIRED and is completely draconian (like pausing or stop the game) then its a no from me.

I wasn't buying one anyway to be fair. PS4 looks pretty good.
