Do you buy games and never play them?

Do you see a super offer on Steam, PSN, XBL or in store that you just "Must buy" but then the games sit unopened or unused.

Do you even buy games that you don't like, but are very popular or critically acclaimed?

I am getting better. But I will need to do a purge soon. I play about 20-30% of the games I purchase and I complete about 2-5%. I am good news for the publishers....

I have done, bought Yakuza 3 on day one and it spent two years on a shelf unopened. I've been working through the backlog slowly though so hopefully it won't happen again. Too many times in the past though

I never used to, but in the last 2 years I've gotten really bad for it. Mainly, however, because my local Blockbuster and Gamestation were closing down, and HMV had a closing down sale - oh, and because I was worried DS games would start to dry up like GBA games did and I wanted to hoover up any titles that might be a tenner now but be ?40 in 2 years' time.

That sensibility applied to my other consoles too, which means I've bought a lot of RPGs that I don't quite have time to play!!

Yes. I am a poster on Bordersdown so I am obligated to have a stack of at least 10 games that are unplayed.

If you don't you don't like games.

I have played every game I own but not a great deal. Loads of RPGs stacked up but I like having them there and I sell off what I don't want. I do complete a decent amount of games.

Yes, I have stacks of unplayed games. Bargain syndrome every time. I don't buy games at full price, but if critically acclaimed game X is on sale for a fiver, I'll buy it.

Do it all the time. In my defence I get staff discount and great deals at work but I'm studying far too much to play anything that can't be played between classes, in bed or over a lunch break. I have a nice binge planned for the day after my final coursework deadline.

I'm around 19 (!!!!), without counting old games I buy but don't get around playing, but including Japanese games I continuously postpone for the language barrier and sequels I won't play until I complete the original first (like Atelier Totori and Meruru). Games I buy in two editions (like JPN and NA) counted as a single entity. This is about my whole collection, I don't really remember when I bought a game.
Of course I'm talking about games that never got into their respective consoles. If I count games I played less than 5 hours...they would be a lot.

I think "never" play them may be a little off the mark, but yes, I have more still sealed / unplayed games than I should do. The restriction is more to do with a lack of free time than a lack of wanting to play them.

No, never. I buy games one at a time and don't buy another until it's either been completed or, if rubbish, gotten rid of. I do occasionally buy stuff in the sales on XBL and it sits unplayed on my hard drive for 2 or 3 months, but it all gets played eventually. I'm usually good at only buying games I know I'll enjoy, although recently that hasn't been the case. Whether that's because games are changing, or I'm changing, or a mixture of the two, I don't know.

I have around 3-4 games unplayed at the moment mainly due to having a young daughter and working unsociable hours.
I rarely buy new anymore and I only buy games I want to play, the days of buying day one is pretty much over for me, same as games like call of duty and footie. They are always the same every year, I no longer believe the hype!
