I would imagine so. I have a suspicion they may lose the other place entirely (you know, avoiding spoilers) and create a new second location. I would like that. I have no problem with them using some of the same locations at all, kind of like it actually, but would like to see some very new areas too.

Yeah, I'm sure it does. Hopefully it'll be satisfying mix of old and new, it'd be nice to revisit Lost Woods in glorious 3D!

Just watched the trailer in 3D on the 3DS and it looks fantastic!

It'll be all new to the audience that have never played LttP before, & there'll (hopefully) be a beautiful mix of nostalgia & wonder for the audience that have.

If they can also engineer a Christmas release so I can play over the festive period I may just melt into a puddle of warm feelings.

I am always surprised when I see statements like this. Especially Geoff's, who has gone so far over the edge I don't even know what he's trying to say.

I played it way back when. In 1994 I think? My mom ordered it out of a Kays catalogue and had it delivered. I'd actually wanted FF3, but the import store didn't have it. So I thought meh, might as well try Zelda.

I finished it, twice. I liked it enough. It wasn't bad. It was fun, even though the dark world became boring and repetitive towards the end (and too dreary). But the greatest game ever? A holy text? WTF...?

In terms of action-RPGs, I always thought Secret of Mana was better. Better music. Three simultaneous players. Better story. Better dungeon design. Complex magic system. Bigger overworld. Nicer visuals. More NPCs. I played SoM first, so I never quite understood the love LttP got. I always assumed people hadn't played the other.

When Miyamoto was in London I got him to sign my copy of LttP. I very quickly sold it soon after and never looked back. He also gave me a free copy of LttP on GBA, signed. I sold that too.

          LttP is no SoM beater.

They were ****ing brilliant. I replay them every year. Have you played them even once? Most who criticise them have not.

I really like the way it looked, especially Link's character model.

^ Sketcz's post belongs in the flamebaiting hall of fame. SoM > LttP? Nice one, sir.

It's not flamebaiting if I believe it in my innermost heart of hearts.

Besides, it's not like I was saying: Shaq-Fu > LttP

SoM is a well regarded title in the same genre.

If you truly believe that you have no heart, let alone a heart of hearts.

No. LttP dungeons are way more complex and better designed, as is the world with all it's secrets. SoM doesn't come close in that aspect. Other than that, it's a matter of taste, SoM is a great game for sure.

Damn right. I adored lttp, but Secret of Mana is possibly the most glorious game I've played. Nothing of that gen could touch it in 3 player mode.

CVG goes hands on, wonder what the final name will be. Despite everyone calling it LttP2 the NintendoDirect vid didn't use a subtitle so I'm assuming it'll avoid direct numbering as per series norm just like Majora's wasn't called Ocarina 2

SoM doesn't really have dungeons. I love Mana, maybe the same or more than LttP but it doesn't have better dungeons.

There are plenty of dungeons, but most of them are pretty straightforward and the puzzles are very simple (press a switch to open a door), unlike in Zelda.

Not really, there are just locations in the same vein as the main game with the odd switch.
