Never gonna happen. Already looking precarious in Japan too, where it operates about as much space as Xbox360. Vita has more shop space, although it also has more games.

Terrible design, awful name, and just a general lack of clear focus meant this was doa.

Well whatever the fate of Wii U may or may not be, if its a good or poor console at least there are finally some good games on the horizon I for one cannot wait for Wonderful 101 and despite it possibly being the worst of the three main versions, I'm looking forward to Blacklist too, hell I may even get Disney Infinity for Wii U whilst im at it.

Anyone know what the first year sales figures for the PS3 and 360 were in comparison to the Wii U's 3.3m?

EDIT: Some info I found seem to put both PS3 and 360 at 5.5m, so to me considering the lack of good games the Wii U isn't doing that bad.

I agree - some of the boards I visit have become painful to read on this issue, so it's nice to some adult discussion in this thread - bravo & a big back-slap to this board

There is an interesting article on IGN (not often I say that...) on the the Wii-U's predicament & the state of Nintendo at the mo - worth a read if you have a few minutes - http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/07/3...endo-situation - naturally it doesn't say anything new about the lack of software & so on. but the financial data is interesting. Nintendo's war chest is quite sizeable & despite the U costing them money at the mo, the suggestion I've seen put about that they might need to go multi-platform becomes pretty easy to debunk.

I think the machine will ultimately turn a small profit. It could easily be a 20-30m seller and do Nintendo ok. You can't help but feel if Nintendo went down the raw power route and got the likes of GTA,Fifa,CoD etc on board then they could turn huge numbers.

Don't know how accurate these numbers are, but the whole discussion in here kind of got me wondering about worldwide sales. The PS2 and DS figures are mental. I would've thought the Saturn would have been more and the Game Gear much less. Just goes to show.
