There is a lot media bias against Nintendo and specifically the Wii U. The amount of sensationalist articles and yellow journalism regarding the Wii U and Nintendo's doom is extraordinary for a console that has only been on the market for 9 month.

Incidentally, i don't think the PS4/X1 will be selling great after both have launched at the end of the year as it's only the hardcore that'll be picking those systems up at ?350/400. It'll be interesting this time next year to see the PS4/X1 sales figures.

I'm partly leaning towards cancelling my PS4 preorder and getting a Wii U/Mario 3D World bundle, should one appear. The PS4 hardware looks sick, but I'm much keener to play Mario and Pikmin 3 (and MK8 in Spring) than any of the stuff PS4 is launching with. The software just doesn't cater to my tastes right now.

I wouldn't be in that much if a rush mate, Pikmin is ace but Rayman Legends destroys Mario+Luigi U and will probably do the same to 3D land (which I will still get seeing as how platformers are in a rare state nowadays)

I must be the only person not keen on Rayman Legends it seems. Just didn't click for me.

Price of this! not a bad return for a ?3.99 outlay.

Full game or demo? The demo doesn't do it justice at all IMO

I think the PS4 will do well as that has by far the most developer support and media backing but I can see the X1 bombing everywhere outside of America and the UK. As for the Wii U I can see that picking up and doing well over time, similar to the Gamecube which is fine by me considering the library of games that machine got, I dont expect third party support to improve even if the sales do pick up, but once Nintendo have released a decent selection of games and all of the indie titles that have been announced are released the Wii U sales should improve a lot.

They are, it's true. I've been enjoying Rayman Legends massively over the weekend, but despite the disappointment of the 3D World reveal (where is my proper Mario?), 3D Land was still a superb game and I'm sure the new one will be a lot of fun.

Part of the reason is because I know I'm going to want MK on release, so I'm considering getting a system in advance. Maybe I should just wait till Spring 2014 though.

I'm gutted they're dropping the basic systems TBH. I really want a white one and not a black one :/

Worry not! They did say that they'll be introducing a premium white pack

Is that right? Thanks for that Invisiblekid I was pissed when I heard they were dropping white. I knew they did a premium white model in Japan but hadn't heard about one here.

Just to clarify, it's definitely available in Japan:
One of the ways you could differentiate the Wii U Basic and the Wii U Premium bundles was their colors. Not any more.

Presumably it'll come to Europe/US too.

Hopefully Mario 3D World proves quite inventive, the footage isn't too hot so far. Mario Kart 8's gameplay footage from Gamescom on the other hand looks gooooorgeous!

Ninty has apparently ruled out an Ambassador programme like the one usex as part of turning around 3DS's fortunes

Yes shame about that, but didn't think they would repeat the 3DS offer. That had a bigger discount much closer to launch etc.

Wii U Rayman has sold more copies than the other formats.

I'm up for some D&D. I'm not sure how much play it'll get after Friday though.
                                Kept you waiting, huh?
