Ninty says its recently launched indie dev site has attracted over 1000 potential developers to WiiU

      Warning: Negativity follows...

Given that anyone in the world can register interest, 1000 isn't a very big number.

      However, at least they're trying.

I would if I could code to the level necessary.

I'd be coding for it as an indie if I was convinced I could make a living from it. (I love you, Wii U!)

@Kryss - One of the options when filling the form is "I'm new to development". Go for it!

              Don't dev kits cost $2500?

              Comment

Full ones yes. They're offering unity development which is just cost of software I think.

YES! Because we've never thought a making a game together before... (for those who don't remember, we have. BUT IT'S STILL A GOOD IDEA!!)

The new release we've all been waiting for. Not.

Seems it's a free download with a daily or weekly or monthly sub needed to actually play it.

Calling all seasoned karaoke veterans and newcomers alike – Wii Karaoke U by JOYSOUND is a unique Japanese karaoke box experience for Wii U!

EDIT: not sure how the pricing will go down over in the West.
?1.79 for an hour, ?4.49 for 24 hours and ?13.49 for the month.
Songs are streamed/downloaded individually, it doesn't download all 1500 to your Wii U.

                        What a crock of ****e!!
                        Those prices are terrible.

They're really not terrible. ?4.50 to pick from thousands of songs..?

I've played the Japanese version and found it to be great value - forget buying Singstar or Rockband discs for more songs that only you want to play.. you're family/friends come over and they don't like those songs..

Pay ?4.50 to have all the songs everyone wants that night. Brilliant.

EDIT: Also, the UI is fantastic. One person sings the song while everyone else can use the gamepad to browse the song choices and queue up the next tracks - the experience made Singstar look amateur tbh!

If ?4.50 is too much for 24 hours of karaoke I suggest finding a better paying job or stop being such a Scrooge.

Seems ok, long as you have good internet. I doubt I could use it without frustration but having spent close to ?100 on SingStar songs plus the game, plus some add-on discs I suspect this system is cheaper. If we have friends round we typically end up buying 3 or 4 new songs anyway.
