Titanfall launches at the same "792p" resolution as the beta code released last month, according to reports that surfac…

Digital Foundry Titanfall ships at 792p on Xbox One
      792, funny number isn't it? well 10% more than 720p I suppose.

I hate to say I told you so ... But there are only 9 maps at launch , so the other 6 we know of are DLC then .... I do hate being right!!

But then further on in the review it does mention 15 maps so I could be talking bollocks .... Hopefully

Do we know that yet? They are all there on the PC download

There are 9 campaign levels, but I expect the remaining 6 are just non-campaign.

Cool. I'm on ald old CPU (i7 920) but relatively up to date GPU (Nvidia 780) so I hoping it easily runs at 1080p/60+. That said I had read a few people on PC feed back on performance issues.

From what I gather, it's very dependant on the amount of GPU memory you have, lots of People with big cards were quite upset they couldn't put the textures on insane.

i wish they'd offer visual performance options on Xbox One. i'd chose 1080p resolution including better textures over the (theoretical) max. 60 fps as i simply won't notice them anyway.

don't worry the game isn't very hardware demanding and should run like a dream. even on outdated hardware you should easily get smooth 30+fps at 1080p.

Im no expert on PC hardware these days, but id say from what i do know it will almost certainly run at 1080p/60 or better.

I am thick when it comes to PC gaming, but how are you playing Titanfall on a MacBook ? I have a MacBook Air, will it run it? LOL!

You need to install Windows on your Mac.

Interesting that they're still optimising it past launch and aiming for 900p/1080p depending on AA techniques.

After reading all the rumours around the GDC unveiling of Directx 12 I am wondering whether that is playing into this as well. That perhaps they've only just received several optimisations around using DX12 on Xbox One and didnt have time to implement them?

To be fair, small negatives aside it's fairly impressive what Respawn have delivered in Titanfall given the size and age of the studio. You look at COD Ghost with what, 3 studios working in tandem and over 10 years of ongoing incremental development... This is like a breathe of fresh air.

improving resolution wont do much unless they bring in better textures as well.

DX12 in Titanfall? as far as i know the game doesn't even utilize DX11 to full extent, as a matter of fact Tesselation is nowhere to be found.

It's out on the US store now. Downloading right now.. 4% done.

Guess I'll have dinner. It's $59.99 us on the store for those that are interested, for me that works out at $66au locally which is a good saving over buying at retail and out almost two days early as well (it's out on Thursday here).
